.22LR going south?

Of all the .22 ammo I have tried, which includes a whole slew of match ammo, regular ol' CCI Standard Velocity ammo is what my favorite .22s like. This ammo produces the smallest bench rested groups when shot from my S&W mod. 41 and my Ruger 10-22. Cannot understand why, but this less expensive ammo outshines all the "Match Grade" stuff. Go figure!

This thread reminded me that I had better stock up on it before ammo prices really do go through the roof.

Hi.
I just got back from the range where I tested several brands of ammo shot from my Ruger 10-22 (a stock gun).

Federal "Lightening" High velocity 40 gr LRN and Remington "Thunderbolt" high speed LRN as well as CCI standard velocity LRN all produced quarter size groups at 50 yrds. All very accurate stuff. No misfires, FTFs, or FTEs.

Just thought I would add a bit of range testing to this thread.
