1911: SA vs S&W

That's ok TunnelRat, I still like that gun!

I don't shoot it much, I bought a S&W that uses the same .45 rounds but in moonclips. Actually a nicer gun to shoot. It doesn't look as nice as the SA, but it is a nice shooter.

I have often debated getting a 45 revolver for the range. The use of moon clips always seemed cool to me.

I have looked at both and would take the S&W every time over the SA. The external extractor is actually a superior redesign, much more suited for modern industrial processes. S&W did it right; you don't hear about extractor problems on S&W pistols, 1911 or otherwise.

Plus, the gun is backed by S&W, one of the truly iconic gun manufacturers.
