    Canik 100

I picked up a Canik C 100 a couple weeks ago and finally got to the range this past Sunday. It was fairly accurate in my hands. I tried the CZ75 before, and I figured the compact Canik was for me. I think I was right. No FTEs or FTFs in 150 rounds. I tried the WWB hollowpoints, Fiocchi FMJs, and...

    CZ75 Omega

I just put a CZ75 Omega on layaway. It comes with 2 10-round magazines. I compared it to a Canik compact. In every respect, the CZ seemed a better made pistol. The price certainly reflected this. One major difference was in the trigger: with the hammer down or cocked, the position of the trigger...

    .22 Colibri

I understand this is just primer and projectile. Can this safely be chambered in a pistol made for .22LR? I have Smith and Wesson 22a.

    Bore axis

How is this measured? I understand a lower bore axis has an effect on felt recoil, but is it measured from the bottom of the slide, bottom of the frame, or what? Thanks!

Smith and Wesson 4046 range report

I went to the put door range near my home. Light wind, with a Boeing B-17 flying overhead occasionally! I used 165 grain WWB and some 165 grain reloads I picked up at a gun show. I was shooting at 10 yards. I also brought a Ruger SR40 full-size for comparison. The DAO trigger was stiff at...

    Smith and Wesson 4046TSW

I just traded for this at the gun show yesterday. I will post pics later. This is my first Smith semi. This is DAO, right? Will the action get smoother over time like a revolver? Ed

    Foreign proof marks

I have an American-manufactured pistol that has a German proof mark. I have already checked the list at the NRA museum website. My question is, if I want to sell the pistol, will I have to worry about importation info, ie. date imported, gov't approval, batfe regs etc?

    Mainspring screw

I have a Smith and Wesson 28-2 6-inch, made in the 1980's. The screw on the frontstrap keeps backing out, causing the trigger to move forward as the hammer drops. When I tighten the screw, the problem stops. Can I use Loctite on this screw, or is there a more sensible solution?

    Model 28-2

Both together 6-inch 4-inch I have the checkered grips for the 4-inch, but the Hogue feels better.

    Model 28-2

I have been lucky enough to get two of these beauties! The four-inch has what look like proof marks, 3 different ones, and a fourth one on the barrel bulge. The six-inch has no proof marks at all. Do proof marks make a difference?

    New to me

I just got a Smith and Wesson model 28-2. Target grips and hammer, smooth trigger. Tiny bit of wear at the muzzle. The trigger pull is stiff and rough. I guess I need to shoot it to get the trigger sorted out!

    Astra A-75

I saw one at the Gun Show, but didn't buy because I had a question the seller couldn't answer. How does the same magazine feed 9mm and .40s&w? He was asking $285 and I didn't think it was worth the gamble. Am I missing something really obvious?

    Shot my new pistol

I got to an indoor range today. The Ruger SR9c was a great fit for my hand, even with the short magazine. I only put about 50 rounds through it, but it functioned flawlessly. It seemed more accurate with the larger magazine. The sight was easily adjusted, recoil was mild, and my only complaint...

    New Ruger SR9c

I just got my brand new pistol! I already have the SR40, so I am familiar with its operation. My question is, why do they include a fired casing?

    Ruger Security Six

I have one "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty," and I was wondering if I can just buy a 9mm cylinder to use with this gun, or is there something else necessary to be a convertible model?

    Ruger Security-Six rear sight

Anyone have a source for the adjustable rear sight for a Ruger Security Six? The original is damaged. I might change the front sight, but for now, I just need the rear. Thanks

    Smith and Wesson 22A

I bought one of these new several months ago. I have only recently taken it to the range and tried to get it sighted in. It has adjustable rear sights, and fixed front ones. After several (8+) magazines of Remington .22LR and periodic adjustments to the rear sight, I have this problem: Having...

    New Steyr polymer pistol

I just handled this at Cabela's today. It seems to fit my hand well. The trigger is very smooth, and the sights are....unique. I next picked up a Walther PPS, but the trigger was notchy compared to the Steyr. Both are 9mm, and I know they have different applications, but is the notchy trigger on...

    Smith & Wesson 22A

Just picked one up at Cabela's for $200. Can anyone tell me if the takedown button on the front of the trigger-guard is supposed to be so dang stiff? I'm not the weakest guy in the world, but this thing won't budge and I'd like to disassemble and clean it before I fire it. Thanks!
