    Recommend a P11 holster

Here's the deal. My friend asked me today to find her an OWB leather holster, non-thumbsnap for my (her:rolleyes:) P11. She'll be getting her CC permit in a little over two months. For her sake I prefer it to have a flat inner face, but not cost a huge sum of money, IE over $60. Any ideas?

    Kentucky 'woods carry'

First I've heard of this. So people weren't allowed to open carry a handgun while walking through...what woods are we talking about here? State forests?

Let's talk about the Kahr K9

I got a chance to handle one at the gun store today and instantly liked it. The slight heft is nice, thin size, good ergonomics. The thing is incredibly simple, just one lever for the slide release. Trigger was smooth but it had a 'stacking' effect toward the end, which I actually like so you...

    P11 holsters?

My friend and I will be getting our KY permits here in about 3 months. Her first permit, my third. She's taken a shine to my P11. Right now it has a belt clip on it for my IWB carry, but she wants to carry it OWB. Any decent holsters for $50 or less?

    Revolver design question

Forgive me if this has been discussed. I got to looking at my SP101 last night. Has anyone tried to 'invert' the operation of a revolver? That is, have the barrel at the bottom, with the cylinder swinging out from the top? It would really cut muzzle flip yet still have the reliable operation...

    My friend's transformation

A long time ago, my friend had a gun pointed at her head, and was nervous about firearms from that event. I got my CC permit about 5 years ago. She wasn't against it considering all the criminal activity going on in the local area, but was wary regardless. She'd make comments in public like...

Shoulder holster is missing a piece!

I have an Aker holster that came with my SP101 3". It has a loop under the speedloader holders for belt attachment. I honestly don't know where to get this piece, or what I can use in it's place.

A slight beef with 'gun recommendation' threads

I'll keep this short and sweet. Before a gun and equipment get bought, the new shooter needs to get a safety class under their belt. IMO it's irresponsible to not make this priority #1 when bringing a new gun owner into the fold. Too many people are waving these things around, oblivious to...

    Can't afford to shoot...

Still waiting to be employed, trying to save every dollar I still posess. Sometimes I just hold my rifle and do some dry firing or take apart/reassemble a couple handguns. What do you guys do when finances are zero?

    Yikes, this happened today

Small town just south of Louisville. We've been here about two months, having dealt with two power outages and now this about a mile from my house. http://www.14wfie.com/global/story.asp?s=9835702 Now what the article doesn't mention is the check cashing store had been held up a week...

50 yard shot, your 'go-to' handgun?

How can I phrase this... Let's limit this to three of our carry guns. Some are more difficult to shoot accurately with, some more natural and just feel 'right'. It doesn't even have to be 50 yards, just something that feels like an extension of your arm and is naturally easy to use. Here's...

    Curious...22 vs centerfire slides?

Why don't we see centerfire handguns with the slide action we see on the Ruger, CZ Kadet, Buckmark etc? Sure would make it easier to add optics, and probably make it more accurate with the fixed barrel. I know, I know...the P7 and Desert Eagle have it. But they're gas operated.

    Robbing classrooms now!

Louisville KY, no concealed carry sign

Went to see 'Gran Torino' today, great flick. Cinema De Lux on Preston road, almost didn't see the little sign at the bottom of the door. Essentially it said, along with the gun/circle thing, "No concealed carry per KRS 237.110 (section 13)" Now the place does have a dedicated bar. Is it...

    National park law, need help

Guy on another board posted this after I made light of the new ruling. If someone could analyze what he's saying I'd appreciate it...mainly about the parks choosing to allow it.

    CZ 527 Weaver rail available

...at least for now. KalinkaOptics got their 16mm rail adaptor back in for the 527. I emailed them a few months ago and they said "early 2009". http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/detail.aspx?ID=619

    Reloading questions

I don't have a reloader, but after seeing the price of 45 at WalMart today, I may have no choice as I can't afford to feed my Sig 220 anymore. Even 9mm is $20/100. I was looking to get a Lee Handloader kit and some dies. Question, how do you guys get the cheap powder, bullets, primers and...

Took a new-ish person shooting today!

He just got his bachelors in criminal justice and is planning to get on with a local PD. Ironically he'd never really fired many handguns and rifles, so I broke out my meager collection and we headed to Knob Creek range. I have 22, 9mm, 38/357 and 45 in handguns. He liked the CZ Kadet with...

    4-channel muffs?

I had some Radians Maximus 4-channel muffs for a while until they crapped out, and haven't had electronics since. I really enjoyed the fact you could hear sounds BEHIND you as well as in front or to the side. Now can anyone tell me if the Peltor 7s is a true multidirectional muff that works...
