I've been thinking of going with a 243 Win. for varmint and target shooting but have heard that barrel life is relatively short ( about 1500 rounds I've read on one source ) ! I was originally thinking of going with a 223 Rem. for the same purpose but thought maybe the 243 Win. would be better...

Is this enough barrel length for an efficient & accurate 223 cal rifle with a faster barrel twist ( 1 in 8" or 1 in 9 " ) ? It will most likely be a bolt action with a medium or heavy weight barrel...thanks !

I think the stock barrel has a twist rate of 1-10 and was wondering what bullet weights generally shoot the most accurately ? Thanks !

Don't know much about the rifle other than seeing one at a local shop and one of the employees bragging it up ! It did seem a bit heavy but I guess for long range shooting this isn't a big deal.....most likely with bipod and scope attached it will weigh close to 11 lbs or so ! Anybody got one...

Everyone knows you don't dry fire 22 rimfire handguns and have used spent 22 cases at times.......so what 22 snap caps do you use ? Something durable and can work both in autos or revolvers that are relatively inexpensive to replenish.... any recommendations ? Thanks !
