    Redhawk vs. Super Redhawk

Greetings. I have a 7.5" SS .44 Redhawk with the integral scope ring grooves. I LOVE going FULL BORE with my reloads (pushing 1,200 foot pounds). Since I can already mount a scope to my Redhawk, is there any reason I should step up to the SUPER Redhawk? I mean, are there any advantages the...

    Advanced Armament's new suppressors

Boy, this forum could use a little life! Has anyone tried out the new 9mm and .45 supressors made by AAC that are advertised as having a 40dB wet reduction? They have a built in Nielsen device (recoil regulator) and are said to function with Browning type centerfire pistols!

Need info on a certain tumbler, please

Someone has offered to sell me a used tumbler. We haven't agreed on price because I don't know what it is worth and he doesn't remember what he paid for it. The base is metal and maroon in color and the bowl is black plastic. It is called the "Ultra Vibe-18" and under that it says "Thumler's...

Max .357 loads and the Security Six

Greetings, I just bought a used 4" SS Security Six. I'm somewhat well-versed in reloading for my 7 1/2" Redhawk .44 mag, but haven't started reloading .357 mag yet. I understand the Redhawk, SRH, and GP100 are supremely strong revolvers, but how about the Security Six? I've been eyeballing...

    Pressure or power?

I'm just curious about something. As a reloader, I can reproduce the ballistics of +P factory ammo, with much lower pressures than +P, using the right powders. For example, I can push a 115 grain JHP at 1,300 fps from a Glock 26 (believe it or not) with Herco without going over 35,000 psi...

Making .400 Corbon out of .45 ACP brass

Is it really true that you can "make" .400 Corbon brass by just running .45ACP brass through a .400 Corbon sizing die? That's what I gathered from a post on the Semiauto Forum by WalterGA. But you know Walter...as much of a fountain of knowledge that he is, he can be rather vague (and surly). ;)

I'd like to hear from MK23 Socom owners please!

I had been saving up for a while for a hyper-accurate .45 or 10mm. I had a custom-made 1911 in mind (Double stack built on a STI frame and Caspian slide...$1500 range). Well, I found a deal on a HK Mark 23 in like-new condition that was too good to pass up, so I bought it. I took it out...

    1911 Barrel Style Questionss

I was wondering about the advantages/disadvantages of the standard barrel/barrel bushing configuration to the increasingly seen bushingless "bull" barrel design. I also was wondering about the advantages/disadvantages of the ramped barrel to the standard set up. Any insight is appreciated!

    TW-25B lubricant

I have seen the highly-touted TW-25B firearms lubricant made by both "Mil-Comm" and Kleen-Bore. Is this the same formula, free to be made by whatever company decides to produce it? Or are they different formulas and the companies just figure the TW-25B name will help it sell?

Why are .40 bullets flat nose?

I was just wondering...almost every pistol caliber I can think of has "ball" ammo. Yet every .40 or 10mm bullet I have seen is a flat nosed truncated cone of some sort. What's with the lack of round nosed bullets?

Is my .45 ACP "Carry" load safe?

The load I'm referring to is on Alex Johnson's post, "How many use handloads for self defense?" or something like that. I'd like to know what you all think before I hurt myself. Thanks.

Need info on Savage Model "6A"

Greetings. My buddy has an old 22lr. rifle with the above model #. I think it is the neatest designed .22 semiauto I've ever fired. It has the tubular magazine under the barrel (ala Marlin 60). Here's the neat part. You can use the rifle as a semiauto OR a bolt action. You leave the bolt...

The final word on Robar's Roguard?

So what IS the general consensus on Roguard? I looked through the searches, and some think it is great and some hate it. However, there wasn't much first-hand feedback. I have been told by a former employee that Robbie Barkmann was a "crook" and that it wasn't much better than spray paint. I...

Anyone in Phoenix want to trade brass/bullets?

I have a bunch of virgin .45 Colt and .357 Starline and IMI Match brass. See my post in the holsters and miscellany trading section. You might have to scroll back 5 days. Sorry to post here, but I'm not getting much action over there.

    Geez! What's with Blue Dot?

I went to the range yesterday with a fellow TFLer to try out some of my reloads. I was mostly shooting .40 out of my SIG 229 and Walther P99. Loads were Rainier 135 gr FP over 7.4 grains of SR 7625 and Rainier 155 gr FP over 11.0 grains of Blue Dot. OAL was 1.135-1.140". The SR 7625 load was...

Is the USP45 barrel "octogonal" like the Glock?

Seeing as to how the Glock .45's have octogonal as opposed to hexagonal rifling, do the HK USP's come with similar characteristics? (hexagonal for 9mm/40 and octogonal for .45) Just curious

Please help with 135 gr .40 load data

Hi, everyone. I just bought a bunch of Rainier .40 cal plated bullets (although it says "Total Copper Jacketed Bullets" and it doesn't say "Rainier" on the box) from the Dillon showroom. They are 135 gr flat points. In all my books, I can't find any load data for this bullet. I found two...

Anyone load for P99 .40? Other questions too.

I just traded a SIG 226 for a Walther P99 in .40. Of those of you that own the P99 .40, how does the chamber support compare to the notorious Glock .40 chambers? (I don't have a Glock to compare). I noticed that my P99 doesn't have as good case support as my SIG 229. Is the P99 safe to...

Neck sizing .308 on the Dillon 550

Can I set up the 550 to only neck-size my 308 brass while decapping using the standard Dillon dies or do I need to buy a separate neck sizing die (from Redding, maybe?)? Thanks

    TiN or Tungsten Carbide?

I'm ready to purchase some dies to reload 9mm and 40 S&W on my Dillon 550. I've been looking at Hornady or Redding titanium nitride 3-die sets or the LEE carbide set. Someone also highly recommended the LEE factory crimp die. Does the LEE 3-die carbide set come with that die or do I have to...
