    Armi Sport Kentucky

I just snagged a 13 year old Armi Sport Kentucky long rifle in .45 cal. What amazes me is this rifle has a 1:36 twist. Manual recommends a .440 RB with a .025 patch ? Sounds like a bit thick on the patch but when i get the rifle in the mail i'll slug the barrel and find out for sure. Also states...

    Colt MKIV Series 70

Bling! Heh, i scored this pistol yesterday and felt the need to share. I found a good deal from a great person who was in need for my Mini-14, so we traded. Vintage 1973 :D

    swabbing barrel

I shot the 1858 today and the first two cylinders were very accurate to point of aim. After that thru to 8 cylinders full the accuracy dropped off dramatically. Anyone here swab their barrel and does it help retain accuracy ? I'm thinking of trying ballistol in between each two cylinders full.

    TOP Cylinder Loader

I received the Tower of Power Cylinder Loader today in the mail. I hurried to the range and to my delight, this is a quality piece. I'm amazed at the feel I get pressing the ball into the cylinder. Sometimes when I would use the lever on the pistol, i would over press the ball and slightly...

    Day at the range

Finally got a chance to shoot three of my black powder pistols today. Two 1858's and a 1860. :D I used my home cast round ball, Goex FFF and #11 caps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukh5PpORSGc&context=C4d14b81ADvjVQa1PpcFNC70VKjWmY6LSTu4PsXST9zk7BOBrKcTs=

    Dick Dastardly

I just had to jump in here and make mention of Dick Dastardly. I ordered a Tower of Power Loading press from him this evening. I have a pistol that i knew the press would not work for with the size of arbor needed on the press to fit the cylinder. I called him personally and spoke with him...

    Shoot it ?

I have a brand new in the box blued Ruger Old Army with a manf date of 2006. It's so dang nice I can't stand it. I'm getting to the point that it's driving me nutz looking past it everytime I choose what to take to the range. More to the point, I can't bring myself to fire the first shot through...

    Uberti/Cimarron Colt .44 1860 Revolver

Snagged a Uberti/Cimarron Colt .44 1860 Revolver on Gunbroker. I put in a bid at a low price which was just enough to trip the reserve and i'll be darned if it didn't stick and i WON! This pistol normally sells for $340 and i snagged it for $226 and not to mention it's new and unfired. Love the...

    Sale at the local shop

Midwest Gun has a great summer sale going and something told me when I decided to enter the building that I wasn't walking out empty handed. I was prepared to be in the "windows shopping" only mode (yeah right!). I sold my Vector AK-47 to a forum member a while back and since then I've been in...

    Bullet Sabot Combo

I'm finding that it would be cheaper to purchase bullets and sabots for my muzzle loader separately. Currently I'm shooting a 240gr Hornady XTP pistol bullet in a MMP sabot. Is anyone else here doing the same thing and if so, what combo are you using with good success ? Also I'm thinking...

    Traditions Hawken .50 cal

I just run across a couldn't refuse deal on this pristine Traditions Hawken .50 cal muzzleloader. I've got quite a bit of time and experience with black powder pistols but this is my first muzzleloader rifle. I was always debating between the newer inlines and these replicas of the olden days...

I couldn't have said it better!

It's just a sign of the times and we better make haste to get ourselves ready for the inevitable. America had a chance and voted it away. And when he turns the US over to the world court you can kiss your freedoms good bye forever.

BP got to my wife today

I have to tell you guys.... Me and the wife went out to the range and fired our Uberti Dragoon today. Now my wife has never fired or seen a BP in action before. I let her take the first 6 shots. After the very first shot she had a smile that was ear to ear! After she emptied the cylinder her...

    Cimarron Dragoon

Now the wait begins... I just purchased this Uberti / Cimarron 1848 3rd Model Dragoon. It should show up at the door step Monday. I almost went with a Walker this time but this Dragoon just jumped out at me. The Walker will be next on the short list I'm sure. This Dragoon looks to be so nice...

Three of a kind, workin' on a full house!

I just aquired the XD-40 service model in the middle. I can't help it, I just can't say enough good about the XD's. The 1911 grip angle is the high point for me with these. top to bottom / XD45 tactical - XD40 service - XD40 sub compact

    Russian SKS values

I just wanted to note that I'm really amazed by the ever growing value of the Russian SKS. I checked on GunBroker and their going between $450.00 to $500.00 now. I have a very pristine condition Russian SKS that at one time I thought of selling but I think I may keep it in the safe.
