    Kahr P40 Problem. Help

I just accired a nearly new Kahr .40 caliber P40, thats the plastic frame model, for off duty carry and took it to the range. Long story short after the first 25 or so rounds it started locking open after the first round in chamber was fired. Near the end of the string it was locking open after...

    Indian Arsenal .308 2A1 “British”

I was having a Colt repaired with a new Beaver Tail grip and while the .45 smith was banging away I happened onto a guy selling two, what I thought were British Lee Enfield .303 MK II bolt actions. As I have always wanted to play with one I took a closer look and found out that they were in fact...

    New 4.6mm PDW in China?

Well size does matter. :) The Communist Chinese People’s Army has developed and built for general issue to the Army and most likely the “Anti Terror” domestic police (Chinese SWAT) a sub machine gun size PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) based on a 4.6x30mm round. The weapon a variant on the Type...

I attended the local gun show and all though I have shot and loaded .50 cal rifles in the past, for the first time I picked up a cap and ball revolver .36 Navy. Still looking for powder and shot, (can't sell powder at the show). My question is the loading lever, when swung through its arc it...

Uh Oh. FN 57 at Fort Hood

Looks like the nut job in TX bought an FN 57 and used it along with a .357 revolver (which the Army said he didn't use) in his shooting rampage. I have heard one national radio reporter use the term "cop killer" in describing the FN. Not good. I think we can expect to see alot more of this in...

    Smith & Wesson 686 in 1892???

Just got through watching "High Plains Invaders" on the SyFy channel and it was another bad blue screen blow things up grade C movie. But I like watching them to see what the prop guys think is the right gun for a movie set in the late 1800's. Saw two Smith STAINLESS STEEL double action...

    .410 for skeet?

Wife wants to shoot clays but after trying my O/U .12 and my son's .16 thinks a .20 would be the answer. I have my doubts after watching her try even the .16, so would a .410 even be possible for use in that area?

Slugs OK in an Over/Under shotgun?

I recently went out to spend several days at a "Guest Ranch" to ride and rope and feed cattle. I took with me a Valmet .12ga O/U for the ranch skeet range. Since this is WAY up in the boonies I took some 00 buck rounds and some 1oz slugs. Saw two black bear on the horse trail while out and...

    Travel Pistol interstate?

With the many states that now accept other states CWP's and and the Federal LE law and as I have some traveling to do I am debating the best over all travel pistol. I have boiled it down to 9mm (just a me thing) and am deciding between a Kahr P9 and KelTec P11. Both compact and light. 9 rounds...

    Recoil Buffer for 1911??

Took my new Kimber Ten II out to the range for the first time and before leaving broke it down, cleaned and lubed it. I bought it at a show but it is little if any used. The old owner had installed a plastic recoil buffer, but after 200 breakin rounds when I got home and broke the gun down again...

Need new bolt stop for Bolo Mauser?

Picked up a re-finished Bolo Mauser in the original 7.62 mauser caliber last month. Reading up on it seems like a LOT of people suggest replacing the bolt stop as a matter of course as its the only thing stopping the bolt from leaving the frame on recoil. Seems like there may have been some that...

Looking at one of these with 6" barrel and integral compensator, But what is the difference and how do you tell 1.) What gun is Model A and 2.)Model B? And what is the difference in the magazines, from my reading it almost seems like the A and B mags will not interchange or work in the "wrong"...

    .40 SW Beretta to 9mm?

I see lots of kits and companies that sell conversations of the 9mm to .40 SW, can you go the other way? Convert a .40 back to 9mm by changing the slide, barrel, recoil/spring and mag? Yes I think it would be worth while to have a dule caliber gun, flames on the 9mm not being looked for.:eek...

What the Marines in Iraq think of weapons

This is a LARGE post and I may have to post it in sections but it's from the horses mouth so to speak and worth the read. Should provide ammo for the caliber and platform wars (threads) forever. Kennedy and Kerry would hate some of the comments and say the Marine is lying but hey thats just...
