While I pass out Cigars, my good friend will post pics of latest edition to our family. I apologize for being computer stupid. Be Patient while we try to figure out what we are going to name our baby. I could not have done this without everyone's help and info. Dumped my Taurus Ultralite and EEA...

    Proud Papa

First of all I'd like to thank the dozens and dozens of commentators to whom I have begun to understand what it takes to obtain "The Gun". In past posts I went back and forth between the S&W 686 4" 357 and the Ruger GP100 same. I went out and felt each, hefted them and tried them out at my...

info on Chiappa White Rhino 357

I was on another site and posed the question I asked the other day about getting a great quality new /used revolver. Someone recommended the Chiappa White Rhino 4" 357 mag revolver. I went on their site and was quite impressed. But, that's what a sales site is supposed to do. Does anyone have...

    S&W 357 4"

What's the difference between a 6 or 7 round cylinder in a S&W 686 4" 357 mag besides having one more or less bullet or is this just buyers choice? I'm getting very close to making a decision on this.

    Novice buying used 357

Okay. I can go out and buy a BNIB S & W 686 4" 357 or a Ruger GP100 4" 357. But how in the world do I know what to look for in getting a used one? I don't have a relationship with any dealers. I really don't want to be taken for a ride and certainly don't trust any pawn dealers. So, spend the...

    new 357

I only want 357's to carry. I own a Rossi and EAA plus an 1966 Python. If one had a budget between $500 to $800 and barrel length 4". what would chose and why? Also, I prefer Steel not Polymer. I am adding one thing to this post. I have a laser sight on my Rossi. Do any of your suggestions allow...

    burn marks

I am a newbie to gun care and recently used a couple of hundred rounds of hand loads that smoked and spit some fire when shot. I noticed that my cylinder started to get burn marks on the end of the cylinder. Any ideas on how to remove the burn marks? I tried Hopes #9 and 2 other cleaners but...

    adjusting for distance

Using a 38 P+ 125 gr. HP in a 2" revolver what the deviation difference at 5 yards vs. 20 yards? Then using a 4" revolver same scenario? Then 50 yards, then 100 yards? All responses welcome.

    what bullet to use

If you had your choice to get Speer, Hornady or Barnes bullet to hand load them to your specific load, which would you get. These loads will be somewhere between a 38 special + P and a 357 mag 140 grain load . All will be Hollow points. The 2- 357 mags are a Rossi 2" and a EAA Windictor 4 "...

What kind of ammo is this

Here's question # 43. I found an old box of PMC 38 spl. 158 Gr. ISP and tried to find it on line. No one sells this exact load anymore and I'd like to know whether to dump it or use it in any of my 357's. I don't particularly like PMC and stick to US made ammo. Does anybody know anything about this?

If I load my own ammo for a 357 mag

Okay, you all gave my great advice on mfg loads, now what's your take on making my own ammo, which shells and how many grains for HP's in both a 2" and a 4" 357 mag revolver. The 2" weighs 26 ounces and the 4" weighs 30 pounces unloaded . I have no problem using 125 grainers and the 158 grainers...

    Recoil

What determines the force of recoil in a 2 or 4 inch 357 mag revolver? is it Muzzle Energy ft·lb or Muzzle Velocity ft/sec. or a combo of both? I apologize if this has been asked before, but as I said before, 45 yrs. ago when I was on the Police Reserves you used what the Police used. Today, I...

    need a great cleaning solution

I really want to keep all my revolvers spanking clean. I've noticed that they are all starting to have areas that I can't remove the carbon? spots and slight burn marks. What's a good cleaning solution that will not stink up my house or cause my wife's COPD to act up. Or, do I have to give it to...

    still confused

I'd like to hear what everyone has to say about this. What 38 spec +P HP ammo has for either a 2" or 4 " revolver. 1- The lowest recoil. 2- Which ones would you use for Critical Defense. This is driving me crazy. From what I can tell, Speer 135 gr.38spec+P is tops. also Hornady 110 grain 38...

    Hornady

I don't understand why more people don't love Hornady ammo. For Critical Defense I'm leaning to use Hornady 38 special +P 110.gr. hollow point or the 357 mag 125 grain of the same. I know Speer make a 38 spec +P 135 gr. ammo, but this is very difficult to obtain. Both my 2 & 4 inch 357's love...
