Treso Ampco nipples for Uberti Walker

Can someone please verify the correct nipple to purchase for an Uberti made Walker. I believe the proper number is: 11-50-13 (for a single nipple) 11-50-136 (for six nipples) I have no idea how to cross reference these numbers to TOTW.

    Hooked another one fellas! (pics)

First, I should say that my girlfriend comes from an anti-gun mentality. Probably because she was born in Brazil and lived there until 12 years old before the family moved to Miami. About a month ago I took her shooting for the first time ever. I started her out with a single action Ruger...

Necessity is the mother of invention

The one thing I don't like about the Ruger Old Army is the base pin retaining pin design that requires you to use a slotted screw driver or something flat like a penny to turn the retaining pin. It is impossible to apply enough finger pressure to turn it. For the most part this isn't a big...

    Pietta 1851 Wedge Removal

So as an engineer I have to ask this question....what kind of :mad: jack azz :mad: designs a firearm to use a wedge to hold a barrel onto a frame?...oh yeah, that'd be Samuel Colt. Sammy must have gone to the same school as those guys who design cars where you have to remove one of...

WOOT! Ready to reload 45 Colt with Black Powder

Finally, after four months I have all the components to do some 45 Colt reloading. Brass, Bullets, Dies, and Primers were all hard to get at a reasonable price. Rather than be impatient and spend the big bucks from those profiting off the shortage I took my time getting components. Last week...

    1851 Navy .36 Caliber Blued/White Revolver

Anyone have any comments regarding the quality, price, pros/cons of the following revolver: 1851 Navy .36 Caliber Blued/White Revolver I was thinking about getting one but just wasn't sure if there was something more interesting to get in a 1851 elsewhere.

Walker used in Lonesome Dove min-iseries

I DVR-ed and watched the mini-series "Lonesome Dove" that was re-released on AMC this past weekend on the series 20th anniversary. I noted seeing Robert Duval wielding a Walker Colt as his holstered sidearm. It appeared to be converted to a cartridge firearm. The question is, what cartridge...

    Price Check: large pistol primers

Okay, we know there is a shortage of primers and that has had an effect on the price but I just have to ask since I need large pistol primers. 1. Pre-Obama: What was the "normal" price for 1000 Winchester large pistol primers? 2. Post-Obama: What are y'all paying per 1000 large pistol primers now?

    Range report: Uberti 1858 Remington

Finally took the new 1858 for a test spin this past Saturday. I shot 30 rounds. I was fairly pleased with this firearm. It was a "blast" to shoot. Lots o-fun-n-smoke! The first 24 rounds I used 25 grains of 777 whereas the last 6 rounds it was 30 grains. I always use a lubricated Wonder...

    FYI on Diamondback black powder

I asked Powder Inc what the story was on Diamondback black powder. Was told basically, the Brazilian manufacturer of Elephant black powder restarted operations sometime last year (after a long shutdown due to natural disaster) and is now marketing the powder as Diamondback instead of Elephant...

Anyone here use KIK, Jack's, or Diamondback BP?

I was wondering how these more obscure black powders compared to GOEX 3Fg in your BP revolver. Please tell me your assessment after having used them versus your use of GOEX.

45 grains of 777 in the ROA

It was a nice day here in Orlando so I decided to take the ROA out and make some smoke. My typical loads were 35 grains of Hodgdon 777. Just for fun a did a few cylinders with 40 grains. That was fun...nice bang and lots-o-smoke. I then tried several shots with 45 grains (equivalent to 51...

    Misaligned barrel, poor workmanship?

I just received a new Uberti made 1858 Remington. Initial inspection shows a pretty well made firearm for the most part...but...and you knew a "but" was coming...it would seem that the barrel alignment is less than perfect. Unfortunately, the front sight is mounted on that misaligned barrel...
