    New rifle

Many of you are probably familiar with the name of Ed Brown. He is an accomplished pistolsmith and has now brought out a new custom rifle; the 702. It seems to be somewhat based on the 700. For the full story go to www.edbrown.com for the different models.

    new 007 movie

Just got back from The World Is Not Enough. They made extensive use of Steyr TMPs and FN P90s. Even saw a Ruger P series in there. Of course no reloading necessary and there's a scene near the begining where a Striker 12 is a grenade launcher. Bond still has the Walther 99 (it does some strange...

    Up and coming semi/full?

Though this company has a rather checkered history I was on Special Weapons website yesterday on an unrelated matter when I saw that they are advertising for a new magazine fed shotgun, the SW12. There is a picture associated with it but the picture apparantly shows their version of the HK91...

    Video while sick?

Was down and out enough earlier this week to actually miss a day of TFL! So for a little therapy (and since I couldn't do much else) I decided to watch some Westerns. I think the movie that got me feeling a little better was , of course, a John Wayne flick - Big Jake to be specific. The...

    More TFL on airwaves?

    Benelli M4 Super 90

The latest issue of SAR has a writeup on the new military Benelli. Gas-operated using an "ARGO" system, developed in-house. Will cycle anything from low brass target loads to three inch magnum. Will not semi-automatically cycle non-lethal munitions. (Wasn't a requirement, only to be able to...

Match this weekend / St. Louis area

There's a cowboy action shooting match this weekend outside of St. Louis at the Arnold Rifle & Pistol club. We've been working on it for quite a while now, though we won't be using our permanent CAS range. E-mail me if you want more information.

    New Cowboy Range ideas?

We're building a permanent CAS range at our club. I think we have a pretty good idea of what we're going to build but i would like to hear some ideas from you guys/gals out there. BTW, thanks Bowie for your ideas. (I know you're lurking out there). You had 'em rollin' in the aisles with some of...

    HK SL-8

Got to handle an SL-8 yesterday at the range. Didn't get a chance to shoot it though. Seemed clunky looking but handled and shouldered well. The modular concept is well executed but perhaps wear could become a factor as the weapons get older (steel pins wearing on the plastic body during...

    Hogue holster

Has anyone seen or used the new Hogue PowerSpeed Universal Speed holster? This holster has three modes of retention; fully locked, semi-race and full race. In fully locked they claim that someone can "actually lift the shooter off their feet by the grip of the gun, but is instantly released on a...

    Match shoot

Went to a 5 stage shoot yesterday. Had a ball. Don't know where I finished in ranking and really don't much care. Anyway, of the five stages, one was shotgun only. Two standard poppers interspersed within four "tombstone" poppers that ejected clay birds when hit. But you had to watch which...

    Benelli Nova

Went to a gunshow last weekend and saw my first Nova. Man does this feel good in my hands. Comes up onto point for me perfectly. Balance point was between the hands. And it had an asking price of $379!! For a Benelli. I would have bought it except I purchased a used Savage 99 as a present for my...

    phone company?

Yesterday I was contacted by a pro-gun telephone company asking that I switch. Has anyone heard of Marathon? Want to get rid of AT&T. Marathon has something called the Affinity program that can be seen at www.2ndamendment.com . Only they don't list rates at the site and I can't remember what...

    Norgon Ambi-Catch

Just received my Norgon Ambi-Catch. This is an ambidextrous magazine release that Mykl recommended here on TFL way back when. Had it on and adjusted in just a mintue or two. Been playing with it since. This is going to be great for us left handers. Can't wait to try it out in livefire.
