    Let's see some Walther PP...K/S/etc

I'm a revolver guy, but I'm not opposed to a nice semi once in a while. Saw this one at "Ali-Babba's House O Guns" the other day. Didn't need it, but so what? It's a nice gun. Walther PP, in 7.65 (32 acp). From the markings it was manufactured in 1987. I thought it was a German/other...

    A Pair of Masterpieces.

Here's a couple I've tripped over the last few weeks. Top one is a 1955, K-38 Masterpiece. Somewhat finish challenged, but the mechanicals check out tight. Very nice trigger. The D/A is not especially light, but is smooth as glass. The S/A breaks like the proverbal glass rod. The bottom...

    Shameless showing off...

My wife and I have been cooped up in the house for the last week or so, so today we decided to go out for a while. Naturally, we stopped by "Ali-Babba's House O Guns" for a visit. She spotted someone with a dog, and took off to visit. I was left alone at the used gun counter, where I always...

The Mythical "Cheap" D/A 22 Revolver.

Actually it's "inexpensive". Not cheap. I was in a local pawn shop a couple of days ago when I spotted this overlooked gem. A High Standard, R-107, Sentinel Delux, 22 Long Rifle. Made in 1974, it's about the size of a K-Frame Smith & Wesson. The frame is alloy, cylinder and barrel are...

    Taurus 96, 22 LR.

 ;) Man, I was shocked to realize that. Over the last several months, I've sold off a fairly nice accumulation of handguns I had. I just didn't have the time to shoot them anymore, and didn't see any sense in letting them set in the safe, in the dark. I let them go to others who would...

    Stubborn Copper Fouling

I've got a 1924 Parker Trogan that a previous owner must have shot copper plated shot through. The Lord only knows how long it's been in there. I've been plugging along with it using Shooters Choice but it's slow going. Got any other ideas?

    And For the Trifecta...

I have a long time love for 20 ga double guns, but haven't owned one for a number of years. A few weeks ago, I found this Hunter Special, on the rack at the local gun store. It has 28" barrels, twin triggers, and extractors. I believe the chokes are modified and full. A few weeks on layaway...

    Lefever Nitro Special

Somebody brief me on a Lefever Nitro Special. Anybody know anything I haven't found out. It's a 16 ga, with 28" barrels. The gun shop guy checked and said it had 2 3/4" chambers. I didn't check the chokes. Twin Triggers and extractors. The wood looked pretty decent, and it seemed to lock...

    Early Taurus Model 80, 38.

I saw this one at the LGS the other day, liked it, so I picked it up. I had a similar one years ago, and it was a good shooter. It's a Taurus Model 80, a more or less "copy" of the Smith & Wesson Model 10. Not a clone, the action is different I understand. I know the Taurus has a coil...

Bit by the 22 Bug Again.

Once again the 22 bug has bit me. They've been coming out of the woodwork this month. First a 6", Ruger Standard, then a High-Standard Sentinel, and yesterday this one. Ruger Standard Auto, (sometimes called a MK I) 4" barrel, from 1974. Price around $200.00. I'm not sure what I'll do with...

You know that cheap D/A 22 everyone is looking for?

Well, "they" don't really make them anymore, but back in the day, both Harrington and Richardson, and High Standard (and a couple other companies) did make them. No, they weren't Smith & Wesson or Colt, but they did the job they were made for, and did them pretty well. I found this one at the...

    Something I've never seen before...

Stopped at the LGS the other day and to my surprise I saw the rarest of the rare...at least for me, anyway. A shooter grade Colt Python. Never seen one before. Everything I see are in at least near new condition, and most of them have the box and paperwork with them. And they are WAY...

    A Pair of 44's.

Just showing off a little. A nice pair of 44's. Top, a 29-2 (44 Magnum), bottom a 24-3 (44 Special). The 29 is a little heavier with the heavier barrel, and slightly longer cylinder. With Magnun loads if will let you know you pulled the trigger. She's got a bit of kick. Either of...

    Shameless Show Off Thread

Did some wheeling and dealing at the local gun show Saturday and came home with this. Smith & Wesson Model 24-3, 44 Special, 4" barrel, box and papers. I hope to get it to the range today.

    Attention: jglsprings... :)

jgl has been beating me up for a couple of months for sellling that nickeled Model 19-4 I had. I hope this will get me back in his good graces. ;) Model 66 (no dash) in box, with papers, cleaning tools. MFGed 1975/76. Seller said it had a dozen rounds down the tube, but I'll be darned if I...

Since everyone is talking about 44 Magnums.

Earlier in the week I had come close to buying a 29-3 from the LGS. Then I had a fellow I'd bought from and sold to before contact me the next day to to see if I would be interested in this. I was, but needed some time to sell a couple of others to (1) make room, (2) make cash. He said "No...

    Oh MY!! I bought a...a...a...Taurus...

I'm a sucker for a 22 handgun. I've have Colts, Smith & Wessons, Dan Wessons, Rugers, Harrington & Richardson and probably some that I can't think of off the top of my head. But I've never owned a Taurus 22. I'd looked at the Model 94, but just didn't like the SS/slab barrel/rubber grip look...

Smith & Wesson Model 64 (no dash)

I picked this one up from a fellow on a local "for sale" board. A Model 64 (no dash), unfired, with the origianl box and cleaning tools. Unfortunatly it didn't have all the original paperwork, but it was too good to pass up. I've been told they only made the tapered barrel 64 for a few years...

Might as well show it off here too.

Yea, I know, some of you have seen it someplace else. Bear with me. Stopped by "my" shop the other day to see if they had anything interesting. While I was looking at the rack a customer turned to me with a revolver in his hand and asked what I thought of it. It was an old Colt Official...

    4", 5", 6" "N Frames"

I don't why these things keep following me home. ;) Model 28 Highway Patrolman 1978 357 Magnum (pre 27) 1954 Model 28 Highway Patrolman 1967 I guess I'm just a sucker for such things. :D
