    Decapping pin broke, now what?

I was given an old 38 Special RCBS die set probably from the 70s, and I went to deprime my first cases and the pin just snapped off. There's a little rust on the dies so they probably weren't stored the best. Do I replace the decapping pin, and how do i do it? Or do I just buy a new die? Or...

    Which lead smokes the least?

Does any company sell or make lead that smokes "less" than others? I know there's coated lead but I'm looking for cost effectiveness and the coated rounds are usually a little more expensive. Thanks!

    Favorite brand of dies?

I have to say Lyman is my favorite simply because I haven't had a single Problems with them. All makers make good dies but I just haven't had luck. Rcbs has crushed my cases in 380 Hornady had a decapping pin that kept retracting Lee wouldn't size my 40 correctly no matter how hard I tried and...

    Well...clay dot freakin' rocks!

:confused:Beautiful sunny 44 degrees here today and got a chance to go out and shoot. I have been cooped up doing reloading waiting for this day to test loads for a few weeks. Clay dot has by far been my favorite. Among my loads tested were 9mm and 380 with various powders. Guns tested today...

    Found Win 231 today!

Wasn't even looking for it, I just saw it sitting there and I paused for a couple seconds, kind of almost stunned. The guy said "do you need powder?" And I said yes please, that very last lb of 231! That was a nice surprise. Oh and 5 boxes of 22 ammo (50) for $15. All in all a good haul today.

Acme 135 grain FP for 30-06?

I am just starting to load 30-06, formerly just a pistol loader here. I've got 1 lb of IMR 3031. These would be for plinking or hunting. Anyone load with these? http://www.acmebullet.com/bullets-reloading-brass/30-CAL-Hard-Cast-Lead-Bullets/30-Cal-135-RNFP-Lead-Cast-Bullets-Hard-Cast Either...

    Components you love to use

Are there some go-to components you always use while reloading? To me it usually comes down to price but I'm a die hard fan of Lyman dies, they just work for me - and while they are generally more expensive I would rather avoid the headache with cheaper dies; CCI primers are cheapest @ $29/1000...

    Boxes vs bags

For awhile I have used empty ammo boxes for my pistol loads, but I'm finding they take up a lot of room so I've started ziplock bagging rounds that are of the same weight, load, caliber...I.e. " 4.0 titegroup 115 gr 9mm". I've found that taking the bags to the range makes it easier to load and...

    Anyone use Hornady 380 dies?

I've been having problems with the de-prime/sizing die. The rod/pin that pops out the primer retracts back into the die body effectively making it useless. Ive adjusted it and tightened it and as soon as that pressure is applied, same issue. Any cure for this? Thinking about just going and...

In your opinion : what is more economical?

Ultimately the top importance is what you shoot best, but with all else being equal, loading to the same relative recoil/power/etc, is it more economical to buy, say a 147 grn 9mm bullet at $80 per 1,000 and load 4.0 grains of powder or buy 115 grn 9mm bullets at $70/1,000 and use 6.0 grains of...
