    New Remington R1

I picked it up yesterday, cleaned and lubed it last evening and enjoyed about 50 rounds through the tube this afternoon. The fit and finish of this relatively inexpensive 1911 is pretty good in my opinion. It certainly is tighter than any of the M1911's and or M1911A1's I have ever...

    "The Big Shot"

This article was in today's New York Times. It is chocked full of information for all of us with a gun interest and makes for a good read. There are also many things near the end of the article which I find of some concern. If the facts in the story are true, then there are now a lot of eggs...

    Priming Brass Shot Shell Casings

I have some Magtech 20 gauge casings. I know they use large pistol primers. My question is how do you insert and press the primers home? My old Pacific shot shell press is a no go unless there is a work around I have not thought of. It also appears to be a very snug fit.

Memorable Auction & Acquired Colt M1911

I owe my Wife big time. It was not for another gun or another auction, but the misery she perservered on my behalf. We stood under a small tent for almost four hours first in the hot sun, about 97 degrees, and then in a terrible thunder storm with about 100 other folks. It was crazy and...

    Remington 870 Memories - Past & Future

Back in the early 70's at Ft. Riley Kansas another Captian and I purchased an 870 from a soldier needing some quick cash. We paid him what he ask for and did not quibble. I seem to recall we paid him $80 for the gun. It was such a sweet gun, and both of us loved it. The problem was we were...

    .410 AMMO Price

It seems unlikely to me, but I will ask the question. Does anyone perceive the Taurus Judge is in anyway increasing the cost of 3 inch .410 ammo? I do not own a Judge, but the other day I did some bottom feeding and snapped up an H&R Deluxe Model 98 single shot .410 for fifty bucks. I went...

    Small Tip

I have two turret presses set-up next to each other on my bench. Currently one is set-up primarily for rifle rounds and the other for pistol rounds. Last evening, I was reloading some 25-06 ammo and had the case lube out. This evening, it was 9mm reloading time. I saw the case lube there...

    One Piece at a Time

I am sure some of you remember the old Johnny Cash song about the auto plant fella who stole part by part and built his own car at home. I was looking throught the Midway USA Master Catalog this morning and saw the fully exploded view of an 1911 with a reference as to what page you could find...

    Purse Pistols

We often see post on the Forum regarding what gun to buy your wife. Here is a recent NY Times pictorial which might provide some ideas. I am not so much into purse carries (LOL) or pimp pistols either. This shows both in my view. Although, the .357 Mag and the Ruger target pistol are not...
