    Thoughts on CCW change?

As of now I regularly CC a CA "Classic" 3" bulldog .44spl. I don't have any problems with this gun and like it OK. However, being a Ruger fan I'm considering selling it and getting a Wiley Clapp 3" GP100 .357 (if I can find one). Note: I already own both a Security-six and a Blackhawk in .357...

    Bulldog classic leather holster?

I'd appreciate some good quality leather holster recommendations for my 3" CA bulldog classic .44spl. I'm only interested in OWB carry and favor holsters with a thumb break. How about it folks? Any thoughts or experiences you're willing to share? Thanks very much, Bill

Have .22 kit/trail guns become passe'?

Growing up it seemed nearly everyone I knew had a .22lr kit/trail/tacklebox gun of some sort. It wasn't anything we gave a lot of thought to, just something that came along on outings for no particular reason. Much like a pocketknife. These days it's much more common for me to see more...

A pair that beats three of a kind!

Alright, maybe the title is exaggerated, but I wanted to share my most recent purchases. I'm very happy to have them! They are both Ruger "200th year" guns manufactured in 1976. One is a 4 5/8" blued Blackhawk .357 magnum Other is a 4" Stainless Security-six . 357 magnum! I am a lucky man!:D:D:D

What uses for the .30 carbine Blackhawk

This gun has interested me on and off for a long time. I'm still on the fence about buying one, mostly because I don't have a clear cut idea of what I'd use it for. So let me ask those of you who own one, what purpose did you have in mind when you bought it and did it fill that role well?

    Happy birthday to me!

Just put my birthday present to myself on lay-a-way. It's a "Made in the 200th year of American liberty" 4" SS Ruger security six .357. Aught to make a great back-packing gun. Had to get that out.........................OK, I'm better now:D:D

    Here we go again........

I seem to have a natural talent for hare-brained ideas. Anyway, I'm wanting a composite butt-stock and fore-end for my Savage model 1899 take-down. Does anyone know of a stockmaker who would take this project, or am I on my own? Thanks

    I guess I'm feeling nostalgic........

Let's take a minute and everyone give a shout out to their favorite obsolete cartridge. I'll start the ball rolling------ .303 savage Who's next?

    Security-six conversion questions

I have a Ruger security six (not a service six) chambered in .38spl for a law enforcement contract. Is there any reason I couldn't install a .357 cylinder in this gun? To my knowledge the security six frames were designed for .357 so frame strength shouldn't be an issue. Does anyone know of...

    removing disconnect on Browning Hi-Power

I'd like to remove the magazine disconnect on my FN Hi-power 9mm. I watched what videos I could find and it looked like a simple job of punching out the pin in the trigger, moving the upright bar (part of the transfer bar system?) to the rear, and pushing out the disconnect. No problem...

    S&W model 47??

I just saw a listing on gunbroker for a S&W model 47 9mm revolver. At first I thought it was a 547 posted erroneously, however on looking at the pictures this gun is clearly marked "Mod-47" under the yoke. It's a blued round butt with 3" bbl. and looks identical to a model 547. Is anyone...

    CCI shotshells in HI-Power

Has anyone tried CCI's 9mm shotshells in a Browning Hi-Power? Will they cycle the action?

    Colt police positive .32 magnum?

I recently came across a police positive that had been re-chambered for .32 magnum. Being a fan of both old DA Colts and the .32 mag round I have some interest in this gun, however I'm concerned about pressure issues with it. The .32 S&W is rated at 15,000 and the .32 H&R mag. at 21,000. Anyone...

Did you ever think you were done....and then

Did you ever think you were done buying guns and then........."Oh, hell". Yup, just happened to me. Thought I was all set, no need for anything else, and then along comes a youtube video about a Ruger bearcat converted to a 5-shot .327mag. Now I just have to have one in .32H&R. Dang! Got me...

    Alan Harton Bearcat conversion?

Does anyone have a Ruger Bearcat that's been re-chambered by him to a different caliber. I'm considering one in .32H&R and wondered what people familiar with his work thought of it. Thanks

    .22lr to .177 report

A year and a half ago my Son inherited the .22 Henry rifle that I formerly used for pest control. Needing an alternative but Finding myself motivated by limited funds, curiosity, and the scarcity of .22lr ammunition, I replaced that gun with a high powered .177 adult air rifle. Now 18 months...

    becoming safe queens?

Asked if I owned any "safe queens" my answer would be a resounding, "NO, all my firearms are "working" guns." I sadly realized today that as I get older and shoot less my guns spend increasingly more time in the safe. Anyone else notice this happening to them? Oh well, at least I got to put a...

    There I was........

........Minding my own business and somehow when I got home I had a Walther PK380 in the truck and a box of golden sabers. I swear I was only going to pick up bread and milk! :D:D Oh well, at least this time I remembered the bread and milk. I can't be the only one this happens too, can I?

    Colt police positive help needed

I have a Colt police positive .32-20 (circa 1925). Problem is that during cycling the cylinder hand appears to slip towards the outside of the ratchet binding the cylinder just before it can properly index. The gun is otherwise sound. With sideplate removed the hand can be held in place and will...
