    Power Pistol vs HP-38 for lead .380acp, .38SP, .45ACP

During the shortage I stocked up on Power Pistol because it was either that or nothing, and it had been nothing for a couple/few years. Now HP-38 is on the shelves, and I was wondering if it's a more suitable powder for what I'm loading, which is: 95gr L-RN for .380ACP 158gr L-SWC for .38...

Newest Beretta Pico - are all the bugs gone?

I'm interested in this pistol mainly because of its sights, but I've read a lot about problems with broken firing pins, slippery slide serrations, and hard to rack slides. I've seen where Beretta made "Upgraded" versions for over a year. I think the newest Picos look like the one in the 2nd...

Are there two versions of the "Gen2" LCP?

Are there two versions of the Gen2 LCP? I'm not talking about the new LCP II. Iow, is there a Gen2a LCP and a Gen2b LCP? By Gen2b LCP, I'm asking about the post-PriceDrop LCP, the one that retails for about $200 instead of $300. I remember reading a while back about how Ruger had a huge...

    Dehorned H&R 1906 .22LR

I'd been through quite a few derringers in search for a little hideaway gun, but their weight, 2 round capacity (for most), and single action (for most) indicated I was barking up the wrong tree. I figured one of those old little 7-shot .22s would be more to my liking. Seven rounds vs 2...

    BUG: weak side?

Since most people are right-handed, it follows that a smart attacker would grab your right arm if he was going to grab an arm. I've convinced myself that a BUG carried for the weak hand would a good idea in case the strong hand gets restricted, but I have no real experience with such...

I never heard of these. I like it.

Grip idea for S&W J frame

I took a pair of Uncle Mike's Combat Grips and shortened them with a hacksaw (there's a reinforcing sheet of metal in the grips) to where indicated by the red lines in the pics (not my grips, pics for reference). You can see how the rubber has a border that surrounds the grip frame, and I...

Are Hogue 18100 Handal Grips for LCP made in USA?

The title covers it. I've looked a few places and found no country of origin. Thanks.

Which spare springs should I order?

I'm going to order two mainsprings (gun wouldn't fire in DA), and need to buy two or three more parts to have enough for a minimum order. What else would likely need replacement soon? Ejector rod spring, firing pin, FP spring, something else? It's a Charter Arms revolver.

Old Charter Arms .22s and modern ammo

Can the old 1970s Charter Arms .22 revolvers safely handle modern ammo like CCI Mini-Mag, Velocitor, and Stinger?

LCP ejector - has anyone reshaped his?

Have any of you attempted to reshape your LCP's ejector in hopes of getting the cases to land in the same zip code? Any luck? What did you do?

Ruger Customer Service - above and beyond reasonable

Last fall I bought a used LCR because it looked good (online pics) and the price was nice. I never shot it, but was messing around with it a couple of weeks ago, which led to this thread about a non-rotating cylinder, https://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=572728 I called Ruger CS...

I was going through my S&W 642 box and found

the little sealed envelope which contains a fired cartridge casing. There's a sticker with the usual information including the name of the "Collector." Collector: Jesus C. No joke, that's what it says, and JC's initials are handwritten on the sticker and on the piece of tape on the back...

Will the Charter Arms Undercover .38 hammers work with their .22s?

Center fire vs rim fire. Do they use the same hammers and do something different with the firing pin? At 1:05 in this video he cocks the hammer on a .22 Magnum, and it looks like a regular hammer. I was expecting something different, but now I'm wondering if the center fire and rim fire...

Hogue 78050 LCR Tamer Bantam grip - any users?

Anybody using this? How do you like it compared to the stock Hogue LCR grip? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WGZID7Y/ref=s9_simh_gw_g200_i2_r?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=09552MSG8BDN4QF26MF1&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2079475242&pf_rd_i=desktop

.38 Special LCR firing pin bushing locks up cylinder

I bought a used .38 LCR a few months ago and haven't fired it with live ammo yet, but have dry fired it with snap caps. The gun looks barely used, and I just assumed all was well and let it set. I've been curious about them, but not curious enough to pay for a new one. This one was cheap enough...

    Charter Arms trigger sticks

It's an older one from about the 1980s. Sometimes the hammer will go back about 1/4"-5/16" and the trigger stops, won't go back any further. Shaking it or repetitive pulling on the trigger helps to get it going again. While dry firing it often seems to stop on the same cylinder (but not...

youtube - Snub Nose Velocity Test

Here's a video of shooting a bunch of different factory loads. They give a "x% loss" spec comparing the snub fps figures to the fps figures stated on the ammo, but I think their calculations were off. It's still interesting to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqDysouNjL4

    Highballed on Armslist

This was a first, and I even admire his sense of humor. If you've ever had a gun for sale on Armslist I'm sure you've gotten the typical lowball replies, the sub-50% offers and so forth. This was different. He replied on Monday or Tuesday, wrote in complete sentences, didn't quibble, offered...
