Has anyone had any range time with one of these reproduction rifles?

I was wondering what do most people set there zero at on their deer hunting rifles. clarification:I am not asking about the distance to your target but rather at what distance will your bullet cross your line of sight(for the second time).

I have three stripped lowers. How would you configure each? Stock,triggers,grips,etc. I want to carry one in my patrol car, varmit hunt, deer/hog hunt, and get into some shooting competition.

I am building a couple AR lowers. They have two roll pins one in the trigger guard and one in the bolt release. Roll pin holders cost 14 bucks so I don't want to order the wrong size. Does anyone know the size on these?

Today at 3:10 pm central. 38 yards from muzzle to bird. Mossberg 835 with federal #5 copper plated premium with Pattermaster Choke. This weapon and load have never missed.

Gun is a TC Encore 20" Turkey 12 gauge. The Point of Impact is high and I have bottomed the rear sight (no more adjustment). Question: Would a taller front sight fix this problem or do I need a shorter sight?
