Haven't cast much since closing Dry Creek as I have plenty of bullets laid up but a friend loaned me a Lee 358-125, 6 cavity so I made a few along with the 38-160 from NOE. The 160 has 3 pins of which I chose the solid pin. From the appearance it is a mite short.
Back in the spring I cast a bunch of these. Today was size & lube day. I’ve loaded several of these for my H&R 30-30 using 7 grains of Promo. Hope to try these in a few days.
Took her out today. I really like the way this thing shoots but has its problems for me. The reach for the trigger is a bit long even carrying on safety notch. I can't work the safety without moving my grip, same for the magazine release. It does carry well though in a belt slide & shoots lights...
Don't laugh, it's paid for. I searched for over a year finding a wooden stocked Handi Rifle. I love the 30-30 for cast bullets & so far so good. I love the front sight but the rear could be better, I'll work on this. The little rifle has a very nice recoil pad & the trigger isn't too bad. The...
This is Sierra bullet #2130 for the 30 caliber rifle. I incorrectly labeled the targets #2125. Loaded these to try in the 700 Remington 30-06. I have to bunch of Data 85 powder & CCI #34 primers so used such. Please note the powder is a little slow for 150 grain bullets in this case & the powder...
Much has been said about the old Colt case being tapered. He back & forth on how sizing with a carbide die turns it into a straight case & it doesn't fit the chamber as it should. Since I was set up to load for the Colt I did the measurements for what they're worth.
Took the 45 out for a while today. May use it come doe season.
Have several hundred 265 Keiths loaded with 8 grains of Unique. This is a 1973 Blackhawk converted to Bisley. Never fired this load in the sixgun so I shot it first at 16 yards offhand. The smaller holes are from a 30-30...
45 Colt, 8.5 grains of Unique, from my 7 1/2" Ruger, fired into a pretty much unmovable steel plate at 50 yards. These were cast from straight, air cooled wheel weights. Bullet weighs 'bout 262 grains.

Deer season will be on us shortly so time to put the 223 in the safe & break out the AI Roberts. Loaded some ammo today to try since I've shot this rifle only to fire form brass. I have 2 bullets.
Powder & primers are these.
After using sixguns for 40+ years I'm trying to get a handle on a couple semi-autos. These things are a completely different animal. Fired these targets last week offhand as quickly as the sights aligned. I really like the M&P Compact. So far only 350 rounds fired but once I'm proficient it will...
I bulk shoot 30-30 & 30-06 but included the .223 so time ago. I’m loading pull down WC844 & Hornady 55 grain FMJ bullets so not a target load.
I have a nice lot of Federal & PMC brass.

Over the years this has been one of my best selling bullets, second only to the Lyman 429421. I've shot several of these over the years from my Liberty Blackhawk. The largest whitetail buck I've taken was with a bullet design very close to this one, the RCBS 45-255-SWC. All in all it's a good...
After much soul searching & brain picking decided to start with 3.0 grains of Promo. Loaded 10 rounds & added .1 grain to each 10 till I came to 3.5 grains, 60 rounds total. Slugged the barrel @ .356, sized the bullets to .357, lubed with Carnauba Red. Made up a dummy round & found the correct...
If you could build a multi-purpose rifle what would it be? I’ve been studying the Anschutz 64 MPR below & hear talk on the web of people using them for this & that so I’m wondering about the same type rifle only center fire...
Pulled 152 grain FMJ from Pat's Reloading, 47 grains of 4895 from GI Brass, Remington cases from a couple barrels purchased from a firing range & free CCI 200 primers from a LGS shipment which arrived wet. Cheap shooting for sure.
