    Trying out a new optic

I got one of these for myself for my B'day... http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-spitfire-1x-prism-scope-with-drt-moa-reticle Mounted it on my 9mm SBR and have been giving it a try this week, so far I'm favorably impressed. The reticle is daylight visible with no power, and the...

    Kid-tested and FedGov approved

My first SBR... Ruger Charger, 10" threaded barrel with Levang linear comp, Blackhawk stock. Probably not the final form, other than barrel length, but for now it's alot of fun and super light weight. This is the first NFA item I applied for on a new Trust. The eform1 took a few days more than...

    eform 1 question

Once your eform 1 is approved, does ATF send a hard copy, or just an electronic copy? Thanks.

    ATF contact?

Is there a way to inquire about the status of an eform 1? Mine has been in "submitted/in process" for about 7 weeks.

    16" to 10.5"

On a 9mm AR... any need to change the buffer/spring, or is it a try and see? I'm going to SBR my Lone Wolf lower, which currently wears a 16" upper, and go to a 10.5". Thanks in advance.

    eform1 notifications?

Does ATF's online system send an email once your Form 1 is approved? Thanks, wasn't sure if their site required you to check-in to get an update.

    Lone Wolf G9

Anyone here have a Lone Wolf G9 that takes Glock mags? I'm curious if there are other uppers compatible with their lower, or is their upper somehow proprietary. I know their bolt it cut for Glock mags, but I'm curious about barrel extensions, etc. I'm thinking about an SBR with shorter barrel.

    eform trust upload question

What electronic format is your signed/notarized trust saved in? My trust is done, signed & notarized. So, how should I scan it in/save it to my PC to meet ATF efile requirements? (I have my online id, but haven't submitted a form 1 online yet... a Ruger Charger as an SBR is my first project.)...

    Zastava Model 85

(also briefly imported as Remington 799) Found one of these at a decent price this week, should have it in hand next week. This one is 7.62x39mm. About the only option other than the CZ527 for a bolt gun in this cartridge. Anyone have any first hand experience? Seller's photo:

    It's back!

Hoping these rumors are true! Two new Ruger Chargers to be announced soon. One is a take-down model, both have threaded barrels and a new stock design that accepts AR pistol grips, plus they come with BX15 (15 Rd maga).

    Ruger American Ranch

Finally found a 5.56 for a decent price ($365), should be here next week. (Picture from Ruger's website: http://www.ruger.com/products/americanRifleRanch/models.html ) I like the short barrel for getting in and out of my truck, and the .223 is a good coyote pill and easily capable of taking...

    Centurials

This old Colt turned 100 this year... It's a veteran of WWII, Korea and Viet Nam... still shoots pretty good even with the tiny sights. Colt USGI 1911 Anyone else have a 100 year old pistol that's still shooting? Share a pic if you can.

    Ruger goes DI

Finally... looks like the S&W Sport will have some competition... and Ruger's AR comes with the mostly useless FA and dust cover some folks can't do without. http://www.ruger.com/products/ar556/models.html

    Ruger American Ranch

Finally, they're offering a short barrel .223 with a full size stock! (and a .300BO for those who just have to have a .30 ;) ) Gotta go pester the LGS manager tomorrow! :D http://www.ruger.com/products/americanRifleRanch/models.html

    7.62x39 - turns out, I'm not done

I bought a Mini 30 Tactical when they first came out, but thinking I was done with the 7.62x39, I sold it for nearly double my $799 reserve on Gun Broker during "the panic". Yesterday I traded a Glock 21SF and $50 for another. (So now when the next panic hits, I'm ready. :D ) I actually...

    Might have to start...

...loading .45s again. I brought this home from the LGS this morning... came with three mags and five different back-straps! It already had a (-) connector, so I only had to give it a new slide release. It's my first 4th generation and is going to compete with my 21SF for a permanent home. I...

    1911 sales really slow?

So says the owner of the LGS. He stocks Ruger, Kimber, Springfield, Colt, Sig and Rock Island and says he's never seen it so slow... so I was wondering how the 1911 sales are in your area? He also stocks most of the other non-1911 styles; Beretta, Glock, Sig, Ruger, etc.

    S&W 325PD 4" experiences?

LGS has one and I'm not sure why, but the lightweight appeals to me, but does anyone have experience with the 4" gun? Is recoil an issue for you, or have you had any other issues? It only see use as a range piece or maybe a house gun... thanks in advance.

    Mossberg MVP -Not bad

Thanks to the USPS (for nearly 4 weeks, they lost the letter containing my PMO), it took over a month to get this... great trigger, sloppy bolt travel, but a good shooter (surprise!). It's a 1/9 twist barrel and the Hornady 55 grain Soft Points did well. If Ruger had offered their Predator with...

    Advantages of a 1/8 5R barrel?

I've been thinking of taking advantage of S&W's $100 rebate on their M&P 15s. Their mid-length MOE version can be found for $875 before the rebate, and it has the 1/8 5R barrel. Is better accuracy with the heavy bullets its only real advantage over the standard 1/9 barrel? Thanks in advance...
