    What happened to Shooters.com?

All sorts of funky messages showing up over there. Yeah, TFL is the premier source, but Shooters.com hosts American Shooter's page as well as ICORE's.

    New Black Leadership--2nd Amdmt Help?

Right now CSPAN2 is hosting a panel of Black Americans who bill themselves as the New Black Leadership. What a refreshing presentation. I believe we have seen links to articles from one or two of the gentlemen here. The conversation is about the "suffocating dependence on government", about...

The Northern California/SF Bay area revolver only (ICORE) chapter is starting up under guidance of Rudi Waldinger, close rival to Jerry Miculek and Vic Pickett in the 2000 International Revolver Championship. Drop in on our Saturday practices 9:30 am til 12:30 pm at the home of the Richmond Hot...

John Lott and PBS PRO GUN segment!

I wanted to research the details and names of this story before posting here, but haven't had luck so here goes. While spinning the dial at 12:30 am last night I stumbled across Ben Wattenberg's program "Think Tank" on PBS. When I saw them introducing John Lott, that lady with the British...

Voice your thoughts on Pres debate

Harris poll at www.debates.org. My input for question to use at the debate: We know that our Law Enforcement Officers cannot be on hand to protect us from crimes. For the most part they clean up after criminals. How will you control criminal use of firearms without depriving the economically...

    NobelSport Vectan AS

Has anyone used this powder in handgun ammo? I have a chart from NobelSport which lists it for use in .38 spl. but am beginning to wonder. The only other powders I've seen are Bullseye and Accurate Arms #2 Improved and by comparison the AS is a very large square flake. I would think it would do...

    Watch American Shooter...

...this Saturday (11am Pacific/Easter time) and Sunday (6pm Pacific/Eastern time) and see whether yours truly has a career in TV or will end up as another shred on the cutting room floor! The International Revolver Championship is featured. While I made it a point to stay away from the cameras...

    "Old age" and shooting

Okay, comments about age are always cropping up and this shooter and that is whining about "old eyes", etc. I know all about the eyes, etc., began handgun shooting at age 52 and competition at age 53. Last June at age 54 I competed in the International Revolver Championship in Morro Bay, CA...

    Cleaning Media Once Again...

I've been reloading a few months now, began with Wal Mart corn cob media mentioned in posts here and Lyman Recharger. I also saw the posts on various polishes and decided to do some testing. At the same time I moved into walnut media because the corn cob particles are large enough that they...

    Chronographs--what and where

I'm interested in a good chrono in the $100 range if possible. What is a good make and where should I shop for the best deal? Just need to have one able to do basic stats on one string.

    Meguiar's okay with primers

Turns out my primer problem is operator error--high primers. Meguiar's and walnut shell actually do a great job of cleanup and polish. Cases feel very slick, though, and I have curiosity about whether it may be too slick for the taper crimp.

    Meguiar's and primers

I decided to try Meguiar's Cold Glass All Metal Restorer in the media for cleaning brass. Has low wax content, uses polymers for protective coating. I used it on 550 cases that I reloaded with Winchester Small Pistol primers. I know some people have problems with the older WSPs and lack of...

    .357 loads in .38 brass?

I would like to use ammo that is powerful enough to cause the three cut compensator on my PC 627 V-Comp to be effective. I would also like to do this using .38 spl brass to have the shorter length for faster reloads. The questions are: 1) what bullet velocity combination are necessary to...

    HCI on Discovery Chanel

Just saw a bit on Discovery--sitting in office listening to HCI strategize. Wife owns the tv tonight, has anyone seen the full show? Balanced or straight HCI platform?

    Deviation and the Beginning Reloader

What is reasonable standard and average deviation and hi to lo spread in terms of bullet velocity when bulk loading on a progressive press? I cranked out my first 200 rounds today after carefully assembling, testing and adjusting my new Hornady Lock-N-Load Auto Progressive. I am using RCBS...

NRA Getting Free Press Courtesy of MMM

I don't believe that I have ever seen as much coverage of the NRA annual convention as this year. I was very surprised that CNN and other outlets covered it in a fairly neutral fashion. All thanks to the MMM.

Mark and Other Hornady Press Users...

Just set up my Hornady Lock-N-Load Auto Progressive and proceeded to use it like a single stage to begin learning the game. I am using Bullseye and as the Deluxe case actuated powder measure rotates back from dumping a charge to pick up the next, it binds up. Big time. Is this a known problem...

    Cleaning and lubing powder measure

Instructions for setting up my powder measure say to clean off the shipping grease and lube with a graphite base lube. I will be calling Hornady tomorrow for information, but they will no doubt highlight their products. What are the rest of you doing to keep the powder path clean and lube the...
