I am interested in arranging some face to face time with competent M1 shooter(s)/collector(s) in the Contra Costa or Alameda County areas of CA.

Anyone tried them? They refer to the bullets as jacketed, but in quantity they are cheaper than West Coast Bullets' prices under the new ownership of AccuraBullet. I have been told they are "the best around". Is that just one man's opinion?

Is there any cost/effort benefit to purchasing one of the CMP Garands and building it up with new stock, barrel or whatever (not familiar with semi-auto rifles or Garands)? Costs? What is best left to a gunsmith? Which to start with, maybe rack grade Danish or Greek?

Well, not quite. However, several times I have found what appears to be the bright blue of copper oxidation seeping out onto the top of the trigger in oil or Hoppe's #9 that had been in the works. Any idea what this might be? I am not aware of copper internal parts.
