It's a KMart Blue Light Special ..... I proceeded to take my new blue light special purchase to a trap shoot last night and hit... 0 out of first 5 clay birds lol!! The cheek rest is a wee bit different than my over/unders. It'll take a bit of getting used to. I absolutely love the wood...

    The face of evil...

No, for once i'm not talking about Clinton. I got this match pack from a buddy that works at the NSA several months ago. They distribute it in other countries in hopes that a 5 million dollar reward leads to something. I saw it in my desk drawer today and it brought chills down my spine. grrr...

    G-Code Holster Review

I have always been a big fan of leather for 1911’s. Recently, the paddle holster bug bit me. So out of curiosity, I got a paddle holster from Edge Works. The holster is from their G Code line and is made of kydex. In the past, I’ve worn a kydex holster made by Talon Tactical and knew that kydex...

    Early Pennsylvania Goose Season

Anybody else go out Saturday for early Canadian Goose season? We bagged 11 total on the Susquehanna River. Would've had a lot more if it weren't for an idiot bass fishermen going full throttle in his bass boat right when we were calling in a HUGE flock. They were 80 yards away and moving closer...

    Who's going dove hunting Saturday?

I just bought another case of dove loads and my buddies and I have been seeing flocks of doves in some freshly cut corn fields. We're definitely psyched!

    Finally! A comfortable holster!

I lug around a fullsize, all steel 1911 14+ hours a day. In the past, I've used Mitch Rosens, Lou Alessi's, Rusty Sherrick, Kramer, Galco, Bianchi, Milt Sparks and various Kydex holsters. Some were very functional - while others were not. The biggest drawback to carrying a big, heavy gun is...

New Addition to the family ... sorta!!!

The gun started off as a Les Baer Concept III ( http://www.photoasa.com/disk2/3010/1363/56287_lesbaer.jpg ). After putting a little over 14,000 rounds through it, 3 bluing jobs, 3 front sights, I felt it was time for a makeover. In all fairness to Les Baer Custom, the gun shot extremely well...

    Whacha think? Would it sell?

*note - this is for humor purposes. I have no intention of ever getting into publishing and yes, I'm a 1911 nut :) Probably not because I'd be too truthful on gun reviews lol

.220 Swift and Hornady New Dimension Dies

Does anybody else have problems with Hornady's New Dimension sizing/decapping die? I've been using Norma .220 brass but recently bought 100 Winchester cases. Winchester's brass is a bit harder than the Norma so it springs back a bit more. Well, after running a couple cases through their...

    Measuring MOA

How do you measure MOA out at 200 yards, 300 yards, etc? 1" at 100 yards has always been considered MOA. Would 2" @ 200 yards be considered MOA then? 3" @ 300 etc etc. I was fine tuning some reloads and totally forgot how to measure MOA beyond 200 yards. Please help my momentary brain cramp ;)

    Marble Arms Peep Sight

Anybody here ever try the Marble Arms Peep Sight? I'm thinking about ordering one for my Marlin 1895. Is the sight pretty sturdy? Their web site states that it's shipped with aperatures. Is the smallest aperature good enough for target plinking? Thanks

Anybody see the Magnum Research Tactical Rifle in Shooting Times?

Funny how the author catered away from police usage. He barely mentioned its purpose as a sniper rifle. Instead, he kept on toting it as a varmint rifle. Either way, it sounds nice with a Remington 700 action, adjustable stock, available in .223, .22-250, .308 and .300 win mag. However, the...

Anybody else use Vihtavuori for .220 Swift?

I've been loading with N140 and N150 with mixed results. So far, I've had best accuracy with N140. I'm using either 50 grain Spitzer or VMax bullets. Any pet loads ya willing to share?
