Timing issue on H&R top-break revolver

First, a pic or two. Here's the revolver: It is an H&R "22 Special" top-break chambered in .22LR and the timing is off enough where it doesn't carry up all the way to it's intended stop, but not so much that it's spitting lead or otherwise dangerous to shoot.

    Discuss the Colt Double Eagle

This appeared in another thread as it often does -- a model tossed in to the discussion that helps represent and illustrate one of Colt's many failures. But to put it simply, I want to know more and hear more about the Colt Double Eagle. Good, bad, otherwise? Your hands on experience or...

    -NEW- Dan Wesson/CZ USA

I am starting to see some offered on Gunbroker now, but I've still not seen one in the flesh at any shop or gun show. Has anyone else handled one yet? It sure seems to me that Dan Wesson 1911s have only gotten better since CZ acquired them. Will DW revolvers enjoy the same fate? I've owned...

    Worst bulk rimfire yet?

I've been shooting bricks & bulk rimfire since 1988, best I can recall. I've spent the first 3/4 of my life pretty dead-sure-certain that the worst bulk rimfire that money could buy was absolutely going to be from Remington, and usually some version, name or iteration of their "Golden Bullet"...

Help me ID some GI .45 Match ammo please

Apologies right from the get-go as I cannot provide a picture of this ammo. Here is a pic swiped from the web of boxes that are very, very similar to what I'm holding: http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac4/Craftsmanpics/Picture551_zps7d09517b.jpg However, my box is different slightly in that...

    12-inch Taurus .357 Magnum

Saw one of these for sale yesterday, and yes -- it did look a little crazy, but I had to pick it up to see what kind of balance it might have and I must say that they did well and it didn't feel nearly as ridiculous as it certainly looked. I didn't check for a model number, it did not have a...

An item almost all of us can agree on: BILLBOARD

Y'know, the buying and gun-owning public, from the brand new shooters to the video game folks who just want to snag whatever item they've come to love on their TV screen to the life long hobbyists and purists, competition shooters, collectors, and FILL IN THE BLANK make up a group that all look...

Your GUN RELATED forums user name!

This is a topic that will run the ragged edge of being ON-TOPIC enough to keep from being shut down. It will be up to us to see how far it can run before exactly that happens. If you show up here with the user name '67 Camaro and talk about your cool car, you will direct it to the scrap heap...

.44 Magnum with 180gr jacketed bullet

Does anyone have any experience worth sharing on this (seemingly odd) combination? I happened to get a small pile of blemished 180gr XTP's on a pretty good sale quite some time ago and I hadn't done anything with them. My plan for these is to shoot them from my 7.5-inch barreled Ruger Redhawk...

S&W penalized $2M by US Govt for overseas sales "bribes"

http://money.cnn.com/2014/07/28/news/companies/smith-wesson-bribe/ The article doesn't really say a whole lot, at least that I really understand. Basically says that Smith & Wesson gave a bunch of guns to some foreign agencies to which they were trying to sell larger contracts. I'm...

    S&W serial number quirk

Yeah, I know these questions are sometimes tough to answer... and usually have their answer buried somewhere inside a musty old office in the corner of a dirty old facility. :p I was looking at Kev's 14-3 and checking the serial number for him in my SCSW (I only have the 2nd Edition, arrrrgh)...

    Python: price/value. Any levity?

If you've been watching over the last handful of years, you've witnessed the Python simply climb, climb, CLIMB in price. It's outpaced everything other than panic items that are only inflated for weeks or months. I visit gun shows, a very high quality show in particular. I see some VERY high...

    my S&W Cust Service experience

Good or lousy? You be the judge! I e-mailed them on March 31 in need of a wee tiny, inexpensive little part -- an extractor pin. This is a solid pin that's 0.08" in diameter and 0.57" in length. It's length is the width (left-to-right) of my thumbnail. It's not a universal part, however--...

Opinions on a -LIGHT- .38 Special load

I'm making loads to feed a 97-year old Hand Ejector/4th Change and I'm really wanting to make a very nice, easy load but using the components that I have on hand. That means I don't intend to chase down any full wadcutters... but I still wish to make some of the LIGHTEST rounds I can make...

    Wilson vs. Nighthawk: story?

Does anyone have a direct link to a background story or perhaps just industry rumor or drama or discussion as to the back story between these two outfits? Or even have info they'll post? It seems to be common knowledge that Nighthawk was started by some former Wilson guys... but was this an...

    Compatibility: Norinco T213 and Tokarev

My Norinco T213 needs a new disconnector. Numrich shows it as part#13 in the schematic: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/Norinco-33416/Semi-AutoPistols-37609/213-35085.htm But they don't have the part. I checked 'em for a Tokarev TT-33, but they only have a schematic and small parts...

CDNN finally gets modern on their website

http://www.cdnnsports.com/ Not only can you search and browse on a site that seems more up to date with others... you can actually search their GUNS on the site. For years, the best you could do was search for cheap optics, magazines and parts, and guns were only found in the printed catalog --...

S&W revolver: alter trigger or replace?

Maybe this is more suited to the Gunsmith section of TFL, but I like the usual gang of wheelgun guys we have here. :p Smith & Wesson offers the wide, target, grooved trigger on a number of their guns and I have a couple examples of them on different guns and though I can certainly shoot them...

    K-frame .38/.357 with long 8 3/8" barrels?

Recently, I've come up with the idea that I'd enjoy a long barreled K-frame specifically for target work with .38 Special only. A quick search on Gunbroker shows me that Model 14's with the long tube do appear on occasion. Obviously, these are not nearly as prevalent as 6-inch revolvers and...

Original period pricing on a 1921 S&W Fourth Change

I've mentioned in other threads about my Grandfather's revolver, a Hand Ejector Military & Police Model of 1905, 4th Change. I got the factory letter from Mr. Jinks back in 1999, IIRC, and Jinks told me that this revolver with sn 357xxx was shipped in 1921 to Huntington, West Virginia. My...
