what are they for ??? if it's mildots, or hashes, are they only for scaling the size of the target, or is there a shooting situation for example, in the mountains, that you would need to hold "under" enough to use them to place your shots... in my situation, I don't need the dots or hashes on...

I'd have to say, that on "most" revolvers I prefer some sort of wood, though I have a couple boomers that are not CCW guns, that I prefer soft rubber... as far as wood... I have several that are laminated wood, but I'm in the process of dolling up a few, & just bought 3 pieces of very highly...
