Beretta 92FS, found an accurate load.

I found a very accurate load for my Beretta 92FS today. 3.5 grains of Hodgdon Titegroup, 115 grain LRN .356 poly coated bullets COL 1.100. Mixed brass. Hodgdon's web site lists a starting load of 3.9 grains, so caution is advised, but I had no problems. Recoil spring in the pistol is new, std...

What is a "double pull" trigger?

Looking for a new target pistol for Bullseye shooting. The Walther / Hammerli Xesse Sport has my interest. http://www.walthercompetition.com/products/target-pistols/x-esse-sport/ I see they describe the trigger as a "double pull". What does that mean?

    Aftec 1911 Extractor

I did a search, didn't find much, and maybe my patience is thin today? Has anyone tried an Aftec M1911 Extractor? How did it work out? Good or bad, let me know. Please, don't reply if you have never tried one. Thank you.

    LTC Poly coated .357 dia.

Is there a company that makes Lead Truncated Cone or Round Nose Flat Point Polymer coated bullets with a .357 diameter with a weight of 115 to 125 grains? I can find .356 and .358 but no .357. The reason I ask is because I want to try them in a Beretta 92FS that was slugged at .356. Would it...

    Taurus 86

I picked up a Taurus Model 86 .38Spec today at a gun auction for $210. I'm pretty happy with that price, or shouldn't I be?. I pick it up this coming Friday. Seems like a good firearm, especially for this price. I'm new to revolvers, not new to guns, and am looking for more information on it. I...

    Powder Puff .38 Special

I bought a box of 125 grain .358 dia. LRNFP for .38 Spec. light load target use to get my wife into shooting center fire handguns. Loaded 20 rounds with 3.5 grains of Tite Group. Very accurate load, but still may be a bit on the snappy side for a beginner. Hodgdon's web site lists this bullet...

    Misrepresentation?

Misrepresentation might be putting it mildly. I was watching the Sportsman's Channel tonight, their Monday night firearms related shows. On one of those shows, sorry I don't remember the title, there was a segment on Ruger firearms. During this short segment, the Ruger representative made the...

.22 LR headspace / rim thickness

I have a pair of Baikal IZH35M target pistols. Very accurate I might add. Just a few weeks ago I decided to dip my toes into the water, and try my luck at Bullseye once again, after a 13 year absence. One pistol is dated 2001, the other 2002, so for the sake of this message, I'll call them...

    Springfield 1911A1 9mm

I just have to say..... My Nephew bought a new Springfield M1911A1 in 9mm a couple months ago. Had a trigger job done to it before even shooting it. Total price including trigger job was $950. He let me shoot it yesterday. I am impressed! I shot it "off hand" (bullseye style) 5 rounds at 25...

    Bi metal ammo, indoor range.

I got to see first hand and in person why indoor ranges do not allow bi metal (steel) bullets. I was at the indoor range I go to every Saturday morning. They actually have two ranges, a 15 yard pistol only paper target only range on one side of the lobby, and a 25 yard pistol or rifle range with...

    Is this acceptable?

I have a fixed sight carry handgun that shoots to the left about three inches, and low about one inch at 10 yards. It's not me, anyone that shoots it gets the same results. Is this acceptable accuracy or do I have a problem here? If it matters, it's a Smith & Wesson J-Frame M-60 in .38 Special...

    Multi use primers?

I just got home from a local gun show. Bought some reloading supplies. I normally use Winchester primers for pistol and all around rifle loads. Remington Bench Rest primers for serious paper punching. I noticed some Sellier & Bellot primers, and they were $6 per 1000 cheaper than Winchester...

    Ballistics question.

What would be the point of impact of a M855 round at 10 yards if the rifle is zeroed for 100 yards? I tried to run some numbers in a ballistics program, but it would only go as short as 25 yards. My less than educated guess would be 1 inch low. Sound about right?

    Gunslick

Anyone know where I can buy a new tube of Outers Gunslick? Maybe it's no longer available? Works great on finally tuned trigger jobs. I'm about out. For some reason I can't post a picture. Thanks.

    Remington Golden Bullet

Has Remington come to their senses and finally stepped it up and started making a decent bulk pack .22LR round? Seems so. Their Thunderbolt and it's problems ruined me on Remington ammo. I had at least a 10% failure to fire on Thunderbolt, so I quit buying all Remington ammo, even quit buying...

Hummm, might still have it in me?

I quit shooting Bullseye Pistol in 2006 after a bad motorcycle accident. Messed up my right shoulder real bad. I was going through my gun room last night and ran across my Baikal IZH35M that I used in the .22 portion of matches. So I lubed it up this morning and took it to a indoor 50 foot range...

Help us pick a pistol, for LEO.

My Son-In-Law is going through the steps to become a Law Enforcement Officer. He has passed the physical and written exams and is having his second interview next week at a local PD. He's not much of a "shooter" he hunts, targets shoots a little, but only owns a .22LR revolver. So he asked me...

    Be careful out there!

You've read them here before, but I thought I'd share my moment of brain lapse with you today. I found a box of 100 pcs of 122gr lead truncated cone 9mm bullets in my man cave closet earlier this week. Been around for 5 or 6 years, so I thought I'd load them and shoot today for "free" so to...

    S&W J Frame limitations?

I’m not a revolver guy, semi’s are the thing for me. Now, with that out of the way…. I finally got around to shooting my late Mother’s S&W J frame M-60-7 in .38 Special. 1.5 inch barrel, I think. At 5 yards I was some what impressed. Shot in single action. Nice tight group, all 5 rounds in the...

Problem seating primers in LC brass.

I’ve run into something problematic on primer seating. Wondering if it’s me, or something in the components. Two weeks ago, my son-in-law bought a Savage Axis in .223. It’s his first center fire rifle, so he’s been shooting it a lot. A guy he works with gave him 100 pieces of Lake City ‘10...
