    How to (re)harden a part??

I recently picked up a beater Browning Baby. Looked like hades, rusted, cracked handle, generally a mess. Brought it home, took it apart and totally cleaned it up. Used oil and steel wool to get the rust off. Bought some new grips. Took it out today and fired about fourty rounds of Fiocci...

    Question about 1938 Winchester 30 06

I found a bolt action Winchester Model 70 in 30 06. It was made in 1938. Would you knowledgable rifle shooter hesitate to use modern hunting ammo in this rifle, assuming it is in good mechanical shape? What would you look at to determine the value of the rifle? What would you pay for such a...

    Better than Prozac!

Not that my wife takes Prozac, but like many other spouses out there the recent terrorist events have had her unsettled lately. Today I took her to the shooting range to try out our recently refinished MAK 90 and to shoot a new Bushmaster 16" shorty that we have had for nearly two years but...

    Refinish Report

I picked up a MAK 90 back in about 92 or 93 when Clinton started making noises about banning them. I have fired 400 or 500 rounds through it and it is a thoroughly enjoyable, relatively inexpensive rifle. One day I get the bright idea of putting the same dissicant used in my gun safe in a sock...

How to care for Blued Pistol (got a new hi power!)

I traded a S&W Sigma and $300.00 for an unfired 68 vintage Browning Hi Power in Blue with wood grips today. When I got it home and took it apart to clean it I noticed that the Hoppes #9 soaked patch would pick up a fair amount of rust scale as I cleaned the pistol. The blue is beautiful, no...

    Question for BHP Knowledgeable Members

I looked at an Argentine HP today. Does anyone know if they were built in Argentina under FN License or were they built in Belgium for the Argentine Miltary? Also, when in an un cocked position, if I pulled on the trigger it seemed to move the slide a bit and even snugged the slide down...

    Can someone explain Primer Wipe?

I think that is the correct term. When I shoot my Kahr 40 the primer has a slot as opposed to a dot. Is this normal for a 40? Is the slide slammed back so quickly that the firing pin can not retract? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Is This a Good CZ Price?

I came across a CZ75 NIB (one magazine) imported for AA Industries (has that stamped on the slide) The dealer wants $420.00 and won't budge. Any of you CZ experts out there know if that is a good deal or are the military surplus 75B's equivalent. Thanks
