    Bersa .380

I was looking at a Bersa .380 today beside a Keltec P11 and PF 9. It is bigger and heavier than either of them! While the Bersa is an excellent gun, and a good value, they are rather big for a .380. Just an observation.

    BHP mags

I find myself in need of a couple of standard Browning High Power magazines. Who has them at a decent price? BTW- I disassembled a Ram Line (I think) BHP mag for cleaning, and was amazed to find that it is powered by an expansion-type coil spring mounted inside the follower!

    Corporate NFA weapons?

Anybody know how Blackwater (for example) owns NFA weapons for deployment to Iraq? Are they delivered/stored out of the US? Are corporations like this allowed to but post '86 weapons, and if so, could a corporation in the US purchase post '86 weapons?

    .32 ACP pocket revolver

Here is an idea that I'm sure would be a money maker for one of the smaller gun manufacturers- If the "J" frame/Undercover/Mod. 85, etc. was actually scaled down to the 32auto cartridge-grip frame, barrel, cylinder-everything- and was offered in stainless and/or stainless & aluminum...

    Heat treating tool steel

Here are some tips on heat treating tool steel (1095 and 01)- One of the major misconceptions about heat treating concerns tempering. The steel must be fully hardened and THEN tempered to the proper hardness. This is the only way to harden/temper steel: First the steel must be heated to glowing...

    .32s, .380s, and the FBI

When there were no hollowpoints in these 2 calibers, everyone preferred the .380-as it made a bigger hole. Then, hollow point ammunition (particularly the Winchester Silvertip) was developed. Some studies showed that the .32 Silvertip shooting results were nearly as good as the .380. Seecamp...

    A new carry revolver design!

I presented this on another forum recently, but the moderator just didn't understand-so I gave up. Perhaps my idea will be better understood here- The idea is for a manufacturer to make a small revolver for a new, proprietary cartridge. First, the new cartridge: a short, high pressure round...

    Rimlock in .38 Super?

Everyone talks about the dreaded "rimlock" in .32 ACP guns. In all my many years of shooting I have never experienced, or even seen it happen. Before anyone think I'm inexperienced, I carry a .32 every day, and I own at least a half-dozen of them. I also carried a Colt Commander in .38 Super for...

    Completely new design

Thinking about carry guns has brought me to conclude that there needs to be an entirely new cartridge developed and marketed. This would take the cooperation of a major gun manufacturer. We all know that almost all current cartridges could be loaded to higher pressures, but are not because they...

    Reference site?

I have a pretty good gun library, but is there any one online site that is the ultimate reference, with pictures and history? Thanks, Bill

    S&W paradox

Does anyone find it unusual that S&W decided the "K" frame revolvers were not heavy enough to withstand frequent use with the .357 magnum cartridge, came out with the heavier "L" frame, and then beefed the small "J" frame just a little so it could be used for .357? The heavier "J" frame is still...

    Strange .38 Spl Ammo

A friend at work gave me about 200 rounds of really strange ammo. Black plastic case with nickeled metal head, and flat-nosed FMJ bullet. Headstamped "USRAC .38 Special." Anyone familiar with these? Any info is appreciated. Bill
