    One thing lead to another......

If not for this forum, I would not have known about White Lable lubes, would have wasted all that money on competitor lubes. Ordered all that would fit in a flatrate envelope to start. Whilst perusing his site (I think it was there) I came across the West Coast Engineering lead flux, the...

    White Label BAC lube?????

I am getting ready to order up a new stock of stick lube for my 450. Have mostly used the Orange Magic, and really have no issues, hust want to try something new. Mostly lubing slower velocity pistol bullets, but may lube some faster ones not wishing to change lubes (it's a PITA when in mid...

    It fits.....it fits!!!!!!!!!

Finally found my 5-1/2" Sherif model to fit the holster I bought in error one time. he he. Pics below, but do have one question about it. Fit and finish are all very good on it. It is the Flli Pietta repro. Does not appear to have been shot yet, but it's gonna get shot soon. I buy them...

    suggestions for pistol lubes needed.....

Have always used LYMAN Orange magic, it's just what I picked up at a shop one time, a whole boxful. Stuff goes a long ways. Anyway, am about out, and just curious what others use and/or like. I have noticed nearly all cast bullet retailers use red lube or green lube in many cases. Just...

Did I waste my money on this mould?????

I will try to post a pic, it's a gif file and dunno if'n I can. I have been having to much fun with the BP toys, and also have about as much fun casting my own pills for anything, BP and smokeless. Besides, with all this damn global warming white stuff on the ground, and colder that a witch's...

    What is my ignition/primer malfunction???

Got the old BP rifle out last week to play with it a spell. Just an cheap repro of a C&B full stock 45 plainsman rifle very similar to the one in the link provided because I don't have a pic of mine. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=150744762 Anyway, having trouble lighting...

    Advice needed on barell length.........

I am watching a coupla auctions (hope I'm not interfering with anyone here watching the same ones) as I have mentioned I have a lonely holster to fill, ha. Anyway, the first one states a 5-3/4" barell. It looks longer than that as the loading rod seems too long to me. The second link to...

    ??? on loading buckshot

I have the LYMAN shotshell reloading manual, but read on another forum (and can't find it right now, it was just a link I ran across) but a gent on that forum made the comment to "just use the correct wieght load for the buckshot as if it were regular shot. An ounce load is an ounce load, don't...

Anyone cast their own RB for front stuffers....

I cast the RBs for my wheel guns and the conicals for same out of pure lead. But, I do wait till I am casting for smokeless projos to also get my RB moulds out for the patched shooters. Since it's the patches that are actually engaging the rifling of these pieces, I did not feel the need to...

Question on these short BP pistols.......

Still looking for a Sheriff's model or just a short barrel repro to fit the holster I bought by mistake :rolleyes: . Just looking at some of the pics on the auciton sites, that loading lever looks terribly short. How are these pistols to load? Looks like it might be quite a leverage...

Another silly question on "used" BP pistols

I have picked up several from auction sites, and have yet to be displeased with one. One new one, the '51 Navy in 36 from Cabela's when we were traveling in Nebraska, just had to go in their original store. ANYWAY, all these sellers, most anyway, always advertise as never fired, or fired only...

    How much is too much

I have all of my BP shootin' stuff in a big plastic tool box looking thing. Recently I took it out to farm (100 miles from city home) thinking I would have time to play while things were still muddy. Found stuff to fix as usual. Forgot to bring box back with me when came home. Stopped into...

    C&B manufacturer question

I have the C&B and flint disease, and it's getting worse all the time. I am looking at a C&B allegedly made by Cimmaron. Have never heard of them. See a lot of other former makers and generally steer clear (well, unless just real real cheap) for fear of unavailabilty of parts down the road...

OK. need some help on the flinters..........

Tell me about 'em. Have had a 45 repro flinter for a spell. Took all the BP out today to the range to play, and took it too. I will occasionally have a dud cap on the cap and balls, but what am I doing wrong on the flint pistol. When I loaded it, then flipped the frizzen to charge it, there...

OK, I oughtta know this but..........

Looking at adding to BP pistol collection, (stimulating the economy). A couple of repros labled as conversions to 38CF. I am sure that is 38 center fire, but is it 38 Special caliber or 38 S&W, REason to ask is the cylinders for conversion look kinda short for 38 Special.

Good day at the range with the '58s..........

Have gone out a few times in past week with the Remis in 36 and 44, mostly just shooting the steel discs from 100' away. I can't hear jack chit, but the other guy said he could. I got out some paper targets today, set at 50'. I am ready for a home invasion. I hit minute of silver dollar with...

    Why do people do this?

I hope I can link to this url, some places don't allow such. By the time shipping is paid, $79 will be paid for this LEE 6 holer, no handles as stated in the auction. LEE sells them brand new for $52 (mold) and $18 (handle) for a total of $70 for all, and last time I ordered from them $5 to...

    TEXAN shotshell reloader question......

I oughtta know this, but am gonna have to humbly ask you all for advice. I have reloaded using three old Texans for years, all 12 and 20. I recently picked up a Remi 1148 in 16 guage at the Tulsa gun show. Have also recenly found out how scarce 16 hulls are. I had previoiusly been buying 16...
