    My lean, mean MK14

My MK14 SEI with the 18.0", chrome lined standard profile barrel is now lean and mean. The Micro T-1 sits low and I don't need a cheek riser... no, the irons do not co-witness. ~ ~ ~ Weight: 10 Lbs./12.0 Oz. unloaded. 12 Lbs./ 5.4 Oz. loaded with 20 rounds in a USGI mag. OAL: 37.0" to...

    This ain't your fathers M14

The 417, SCAR and Bushmaster Masada thing are all nice, as is the COLT piston system and others, but sadly - they are not and may never be readily available to us mere mortals :( IMHO, the M14/M1A is an excellent reliable rifle choice. New and modern mags, receivers, barrels, stocks, scope...

    G P 100

I sold off my Colt Python a few months ago and I replaced it this weekend with a NIB 6" Ruger GP100, it has a factory installed Red Front Sight. The Ruger grip is much nicer and more comfortable than the Colt grip. Pictured with my 16" .357 Mag Winchester 94 Trapper :)

    Socom 16

I am going to pick up a used Springfield Armory, Inc. (SAI) SOCOM 16 this weekend. I have resisted getting a SOCOM in hopes that Smith Enterprise, Inc. (SEI) would build me a M14K, but this may fill the need. This is what I have in mind... I plan to send it off to SEI and have it modernized...

    M14se Crazy Horse® Lite

I recently sent a pair of Poly Tech receivers to Ron Smith @ SEI. I had him build me up a LITE version of his famous M14SE Crazy Horse SDM. The barreled actions are identical, here is one in a USGI walnut stock. Details and specifications are published HERE

    M14 Re-issue?

Word is that the 82nd Airborne may be re-issuing the M14 Division wide. None of these rifles will be issued in the traditional stock configuration. This is currently an unconfirmed rumor. If it happens, new USGI replacement parts will need to be produced. Cross your fingers :)

    Pictures of my MK14 SEI

After about 6 months and a few change orders my rifle is back from SEI. I've taken it out to 400 yards with Port surplus and the results were excellent. From a prone position on a grassy hill I was able to hit the same hole at 100 and 200 yards and rounds were touching at 400 yards. I’m a happy...
