Rubber overmolded grip for Kahr P9 Suggestions

I used to carry a P9 wayyyy back and stopped after an altercation got me rethinking about capacity, accuracy etc. I carry a XDM-45 3.8 now but on occasion could use a slim pistol like the P9. The P9 was always 100% reliable but I could not shoot it accurately because of the slim grip. I'm...

    What's a CZ 75 Pre B worth these days?

I have a CZ 75B and have wanted a Pre-B for awhile. Classic Firearms had a few (looked real rough) a few months back for $550 IIRC. What's the going rate for one in good to very good surplus condition. Not a safe queen- but still has most of the finish on it...

Whatever happened to "U.S.A. Magazine" company-the company notorious for terrible stamped mags?

Whatever happened to "U.S.A. Magazine" company-the company notorious for terrible stamped mags? I've run across several New Old Stock U.S.A. Magazine mags over the last few years. Looks like they either rebranded imported magazines or produced their own terrible quality magazines. Did they turn...

Do AR buffer tubes ever wear out?

You hear talk of how many x1000s of rounds it will take to wear out a barrel. What about the buffer tube? Steel spring on aluminum. Maybe it's a non-issue.

Strikefire Industries Carbine Flat Wire Buffer Spring

I have a few installed and so far I like them quite a bit. They're around $20 and nicely get rid of the TWANG!

    Thoughts on Brownell's BRN-180 Upper?

Brownell's has an upper receiver designed around the AR-18/108 design. Short stroke piston upper and all the recoil springs are self contained meaning when this is put on a standard AR-15 lower you can use a real folding stock. The gas system is adjustable but didn't see anything mentioned...

Beretta M1951 worth the $300 price tag?

There are Beretta M1951s still floating around on the surplus market. $270-300 plus tax/shipping/FFL depending on where you get them. Good value? Overpriced? I know these things were hard to come by for a long time and I guess Italy surplussed them out in 2019 or so. Thoughts?

    Troy Battlemags falling apart

I bought some Troy Battlemags for SHTF awhile back. Brand new never used. Gave some to a friend and he's telling me that the base plates are falling apart. Sure enough I took another one out and the tabs that hold the base plate in just crumbled. I contacted Troy tonight and we'll see what they...

Any reliable fix for XDM-9 not locking the slide on empty?

Bought a used XDM-9 5.25 and took it out to the range and the slide would not lock on empty. Tried other mags with mostly the same result. Came back home tried mags on 2 other XDM9 4.5's and one will keep the slide back on any mag and the other is hit or miss. I've come to the conclusion that...

XDM-45 Rear sight drifted in holster

XDM-45 rear sight drifted to the right in my IWB holster. Been carrying it for 6 1/2 years. With the S hitting the fan, what's a surefire way to fix it in my garage? Epoxy? Staking? Rear sights are Meprolight tritium night sights. These were installed by a gunsmith in November/December 2013...

Winchester 223 45 gr HP good for self defense?

I got a bunch of what I believe to be 45gr Winchester 223 ammo from a random ammo can I bought a few years back at $.20/rd. Headstamp "Winchester 223 REM". The HP looks like their 45 gr Varmint round. Good for self defense around the house or leave it for the prairie dogs?

    DPMS, Bushmaster, Tapco shutting down?

In the past several weeks I've seen lots of email ads from various vendors liquidating DPMS and especially Bushmaster stuff. Apparently Freedom Group is either shuttering these companies or at least no longer actively promoting them. Blame it on the Trump Slump... Any other news?

AK-47 Help: Draco C not going all the way into battery

Draco C Romanian AK. Since I got this, it fails to go 100% into battery about 50% of the time. I checked the piston to make sure it wasn't binding. I think the bolt is binding in the bolt carrier bore. The bolt carrier will stop about 1/4" from fully seated. This only occurs when chambering a...

    Handled a Ruger 57 today...

Handled a Ruger 57 today. Surprised how light it was. I was also able to do a quick side-by-side comparison of it and the FN Five-SeveN. Notables: FN is slightly heavier, even though it has a steel reinforced polymer slide. Ruger slide is all metal with a lightening cut towards the front...

Thinking about selling my CMP 1911 Hard Case

My CMP 1911 came with a "CMP" tan waterproof hard case. Kinda like a Pelican but not. I see the CMP Rifle cases fetching as much as $100 one ebay and there are no 1911 cases for sale. What future value to a collector might a CMP hard case have in conjunction with the CMP pistol? Thinking...

    Reblue Old Remington Model 8?

I picked up a Model 8 this past weekend. Internals seem to be in good condition but exposed blueing is probably at 1%. There is still some left under the handguards and inside the chamber area. No major rust. Given its current condition would reblueing devalue it at all? And how easy/hard is it...

What use is a manual safety on a single action pistol in Condition 2? (Hammer forward)

I bought a Star PD in 45ACP. For those who don't know it's like a Commander style 1911 that has some Hi-Power features. It's a single action hammer fired semi-auto. You can engage the manual safety at all times. (Hammer forward or back) My 1911s and Hi-Powers won't do this. What's the advantage?
