Waste of a good gun Bwwwaaaaaaaaaa

This is a Rossi hammered coach gun at my local gunshop :barf: Nearly made me cry..... I have the exact same gun (perfectly in tact tho):D The story with this one, is a couple of country boys in a car slowed down to shoot a crow on the side of the road (yes, very, VERY naughty, illegal &...

    9 x 19 Glock load info

I am about to start reloading some ammo for my glock 34 (with Storm Lake Barrel). I have everything I need, dies, projectiles (LRN 124gr), primers and the powder I have is winchester 231. Only problem is I can't find any info on the appropriate load for 231 in 9x19? I have looked at...

Why guns are better than women?

Guns dont care if you miss your aniversary they dont care if you come home from a party, really wasted and you puke on the floor they don't care if you play with other guns (or 2 guns at once) Old guns don't go nuts if you want to fondle a newer model every now and then (just for fun)...

I went to the Canberra airport the other day...

on my way home from the range,( had a black powder shoot) to see a friend off, on her way to Brisbane, I wanted to go into the departure lounge with her to wait for her flight to be called. Well, I had to go thru the metal detector, set it off didn't I! I ended up taking all my keys out, allen...

    Black powder & smokeless question

All of my black powder pistols (ROA's & 1858 Rem clones) are stamped on the barrel/cylinders Black Powder Only. Just wondering what this is all about? Is it a Lawyer/legal issue, a manufacturers legal issue, or is it a fact that if you were to use an apropriate modern charge in a Bp revolver...

    Your favorite handy ideas

I just picked up a brilliant idea from a thread that to be honest, I thought was "a bit silly". It was by a guy I thought must have been, well, 'mad', lol He wants some old .44 magnum mags to load his single action revolver with??! Then it dawned on me what a great idea this is :D To load my...

    Question on 9mm mags

I have been offered 4 hardly used mags for my 9mm SA but I have found out they are 15 round mags and we here in Oz are only allowed 10 round mags maximum. I would love to get them, but obviously cant accept them coz of the capacity limit (yea, I can here you saying, just get them..... but to get...

    Warming up guns?

Another question. Some folks at my club (practical, pistol/wheel) like to fire their guns before a comp (to warm them up) not for practice purposes, just to heat up the barrel. Others like me, just shoot 'em from cold. What do you guys think? Is warming up a barrel before a comp REALLY a help...

    Clean or dirty handguns?

At my local range where we shoot practical, one of the instructors, a mate of mine, saw me cleaning up my guns after the shoot, he said to me (he is a top shooter, gold medals to prove it) that he NEVER cleans his bores on his Browning, glock, or wesson wheels, because the performance of the gun...

    The top 10 worst pistols?

I was just reading Juggernaught Red's thread on the Jennings J.22 and it was mentioned this is in the list of the 10 worst pistols :D Just wondering how come it is so bad? and what other pistols come in the worst 10? And why are they so bad? Two reasons for this question/thread 1/ In case I...

I have an old Steyr 9mm

It is an ex Chillean Army 9mm pistol. It is breach loaded using a loading strip (no removeable magazine) I have asked locals about what type of 9mm ammo it takes, & all I have found out is it is an 'oddball' ammo made for Steyr alone. Does anyone know what this ammo might be? Muzza

    A rather obvious question......

I am not being stoopid here (for a change :D) my question is serious. Is there any SIGNS of the ammo shortage ending? I am not dumb enough to ask "when will ammo become readily available....date, time etc) But, is the ammo shortage still getting worse? has it bottomed out yet? Is it showing...

    A question about Ruger Vaquaro's

I have 2, one is .44-40 & the other is .44 mag. I shoot CAS and my rifle (was a .44-40 Win. carbine '94 Little big horn) I now use is a .44 mag '94 Marlin 23' Cowboy. To make it so I only have to load .44 mag, can I just find a .44 mag wheel and hope to drop it in my .44-40 Vaq? Or will flash...

I use those colored projectiles (.44) for CAS

I like them coz you dont have to handle the lead which is nasty stuff :barf: Is that stuff teflon? or, what is it? I used to cast my own lead, and want to again, but found these convenient for 2 reasons. The first I have already mentioned (not handling lead) the other is I reload .44 mag &...

Here in Oz, we build some wild shootin' buggies

So, what sort of shooting vehicles do you guys use? (trucks, 4x4, bikes, quads, airboats.... anything) I have been digging thru my pics looking for some, will add them to the post when I locate them. One of my mates has an old VW Beetle with a Subaru motor (no glass, doors or hood) actually...

I just went off the site for a jiffy, to check out my favorite Australian gun exchange/sale site (the one that is responsible for me spending too much $ on guns) and I had a light bulb moment :D You guys might be interested in knowing what we have available over here. How do you anneal brass cases?

Dumb question, I guess.... I know to anneal copper, you just heat it up (evenly) but for brass, what temperature do you heat it too and for how long? What is the best way/method to anneal it? How do you do it? Thanx in advance Muzza;)

    Y'know what I HATE.......

I hate it when....... I realise I have a perfectly finished reload (with a primer in back to front! (or missing) or I loosen the decapper pin in my Lee aniversary turret (non advancing) press to adjust it or take it out.... as soon as it gets loosened, it falls straight down and into the hole...
