    Swiss M1882 Revolver

So, I've been wanting a Swiss M1882 double-action revolver for some time now, even though the ammo is archaic and hard to find. I found an early one (hard rubber grips) that was in excellent condition, so I bought it. This revolver is an amazing piece of Swiss engineering. The machining...

    Why no .440 Corbon guns?

The .440 corbon was made for the Desert Eagle (and maybe a handful of other guns), and for only a very short time. Basically, 440C (necked-down 50AE) could push a 240gr. JHP at 1900+ ft/sec. Now that's HOT! Why won't anyone make a pistol that can handle 440C?

    HK P7M13 question...

Does a P7M13 finished/treated with the silvery Robar finish hurt its collectible value? If so, what would be a fair % deduction from one that is untouched - condition being the same?

    ATF at Gunshows....

I attended a gun show this weekend and, for the first time, notice that ATF actually had a table with literature there. Perhaps, because they don't have any guns, I simply haven't noticed them. I've grown accustomed to glazing over the beef-jerky guy, knife folks, toy peddlers, and what-not...

    Korth video

I don't usually post videos, but I came across this video of a collection of Korth semi-auto pistols. Its a great video that highlights the workmanship of Korth firearms. Truly stunning! I'd collect Korth pistols if I had more money than I could possibly spend...

    Ruger LC9 Slide Finish....

I regularly carry my Ruger LC9 in a fairly humid climate. I do not keep any oil on the slide (however I might have coated it with Johnson's wax once). I have experienced no rust or even any hint of rust on the slide or other steel parts. I really just have two questions out of curiosity: 1)...

    Spitfire 45 thoughts...

The Spitfire (Eagle Arms was similar) 45 is likely one of the cheapest full-auto open-bolt carbines you can purchase. They sell for around $4,000. Now, I've seen these things. The upper receiver is steel and fairly well constructed. The lower receiver is aluminum and most look like heck -...

    Holloway Arms HAC-7 Info needed....

I've read (a while back) that two people have been trying to buy up all of the Holloway Arms HAC-7. It is rumored that only 2 people have about 1/2 of all of the 300 or so HAC-7's ever made. Can anyone verify this? Does anyone have any idea why these folks are (apparently) buying up HAC-7's?

    Why no 22LR Rimless?

Why hasn't anyone developed a 22 long rifle (or magnum) rimless cartridge - one that still doesn't use a primer insert? Seems like it would be possible. The advantage would be higher capacity magazines and more reliable feeding in semi-autos.

    Let's talk .308 Drums

So, I've seen a couple of .308 drums out there for Fals, HK/PTR-91's and AR-10 type rifles. The XS drum claims to hold 50 rounds and function well even in full-auto. I also see that betamag has a 100 round .308 drum. The XS drum is aluminum and seems to be pretty well constructed. I'm not...

    Stainless v. Blued finishes...

An interesting thing has happened to me over the years. When I was younger (teens - early 30's), I really didn't care much for blued guns. Just about any gun I'd buy would have to be stainless, or at least hard-chrome or nickel plated. Not only were blued guns more prone to rusting, I just...

    Infractions and Warnings

I tried to read the rules on infractions and warnings (since I received one), but wasn't able to find anything on this. I'm not questioning or arguing about whether I violated the rules (looking back, I'm sure I did), just wondering if there should be an explanation as to how infractions work...

    Precision, High Qualitiy Pistols

I'm looking for everyone's thoughts on high-precision top-quality pistols (spare no cost), nothing smaller than 9mm. When I think really top-quality pistols, here are some that come to my mind: Sphinx Sig X-Five Custom 1911's P-210 Korth older Hi-Powers Basically, I'm wondering what makers I...

    Crickett Rifle review

So, I bought my 9-year old daughter a Crickett Rifle last week - little 22 single-shot, blued steel with a pink laminated wood stock. Here are my thoughts for anyone considering this rifle. The rifle is sized and balanced perfectly for a child. It is easy to operate - no problem working the...

    Kel-Tec & Diamondback question

It seems to me that stores either carry Kel-Tec or Diamondback (DB9), but not both. Do any of you dealers out there know if Kel-Tec (the somewhat older more established company) prohibits dealers they associate with from carrying Diamondback guns? Does anyone know the real deal on this?

Wondering if anyone has heard of "Mob Guns"

out of Ellenton Florida? I stumbled across them saw a resto-mod gun (Webely Mk VI) that I found interesting. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=291100932 I can't see spending that kind of money on this particular gun, but the work looked pretty darned good. I know that there...

Exploding Bullets - whatever happened to these...

I recall my uncle having some exploding .357 bullets many years ago. As I recall, they were basically hollow point bullets with a primer sealed in the bullet itself. I don't know if there was actually any powder under the primer. Has anyone ever fired one of these? Results? Just a gimmick...

    Why no stainless AR receivers?

I know that at least one company had made some stainless AR lower receivers. I found one on Gunbroker listed at a ridiculous price. So, I was just wondering why no one has set out to make upper and lower receivers out of SS for the AR. This would renew my interest in this platform.

    What's a fair price for a 1882 Schmidt Revolver?

I see them listed on Gunbroker starting at about $700, but no one bidding at those prices. What are these things actually selling for in good condition?

S&W Rear Sight question - older style

I have an older S&W 659. It has the funky rear sight with the stainless "dog-ears" for lack of a better word. It doesn't bother me on my 659 - it is what it is. However, I'm looking at Smith 10mm's with the same "dog-eared" rear sight. I never really don't want this on a 10mm - can it...
