Searched but could not find anything this specific. What is the difference between a model 70 Win with a trap door floorplate versus not having it? Model 70 version???? This is 1980 version 300wm XTR. Is it the XTR configuration?

XTR was a premium finish package, shiny bluing and glossy stock finish. Standard Model 70s had cut checkering and drop floorplate. The Model 770 and Model 670 rifles were made without the floorplate, had stamped checkering, and the finish on the metal was a bit rougher. Everything else about the rifles was the same as a Model 70.

Bolt is the same BUT

be sure you're talking about the push-feed M70's of the are and not the "Controlled round" using the external claw extractor.
The XTR, M70, 670, 770, & Black Shadow used the push feed bolt.

Any m70 with "Classic" in ID uses the claw extractor.

Any Pre-64 uses the claw extractor, "controlled feed".
