Dove Tail size?
Hello, shafter. Do you have the original front sight that came out of dovetail? Also, do you or do you know someone who owns a micrometer? If so, you could use two 1/8" dia. twist drills..set each in corner of sight dovetail & measure over them. try to find known 3/8 dovetail sight or barrel blank & repeat measurment on this one..if they are same or very close, you know it is 3/8". My 1885 High-wall was shipped in 1901, it has std. 3/8" front sight dovetail.
