Win 70 trigger lightening

So,If I back completely off the spring, that's about how light I want my trigger to be.
Am I just asking too much of a factory trigger?
How easy/risky is it to try to better mate the sear engagement for a crisper break/less travel?
In short, I want this thing to go boom as soon as I put a meaningful finger to it, say sub-2#, and with no detectible travel.
Am I dreaming?

It depends on your rifle. I've seen a few 70's that would safely adjust to less than 2# but I think 2.5# to 3# is probably more realistic and there's no guarantee that you'll get it that low. Be sure to thoroughly safety test after adjusting. Slam the bolt closed a few times, smack the butt of the rifle with a rubber mallet or drop it from a couple of feet to a carpeted floor. Try you best to jar the rifle into snapping with the new trigger adjustment. George
