Will a Mec-Tech Upper fit on a double stack 1911 frame?

Here's what Mech Tech says...

Certain 1911 style pistols such as the Paraordnance line have modified receivers which leave an opening in the magazine well in an area critical to proper feeding when these pistols are used with a CCU. Mech-Tech has designed a clever insert called a 'Para Block' which solves the problem.

Cool. Thanks. Para block fixes Paras. Doesn't say whether other wide-body frames like Springfield or Kimber would have similar problem. I infer from that statement they they would not have any problems, because unlike Paras, the dimensions are not any different in the relevant spots.

That thing for the Para sounds like it might be for the cutout in the frame that is necessitated by the ramped barrel.

Sixgunner has it correct. I have a MechTech upper. The bbl has the standard 1911 .45 feed ramp with no provision for the cutout in the frame when you install a ramped bbl. The block is simply to fill in the gap that would be there.
