Which turkey choke?

Im looking to get a turkey choke for my benelli M1. I cant decide between the Kicks Gobblin Thunder and the Indian Creek Black Diamond. The load I prefer to use is Federal 3in Flightcontrol heavywieght or the Winchester Ectended 3in. Both in #6 shot.

I use the full choke tube that came with my gun. I used to buy the aftermarket tubes, but have not been able to tell enough difference to justify the expense.

You need to try and Indian Creek choke or maybe a Pure Gold choke. Primos Jelly head makes a good choke as well. Very few factory full chokes will match the aftermarket turkey chokes.

The Federal turkey loads with the flight control wad is said to shoot better out of a non-ported or non-slotted choke.

If your gun is chambered for 3.5", I suggest you try some Hevi-13 2 and 1/4oz #6 loads.

Here's one of these shells shot through my Moss 835 and a Star Dot choke in a 10" circle drawn around the densest part of the pattern at 40yds.

Here's another shot on another day. Same gun, choke and load.

I can avg approx 204 shot in a 10" circle with this load, gun, and choke.

Yep.

Indian Creek makes a good one.

Call them and talk to Stuart or Mike.

Tell them what gun you have and what turkey loads you plan on shooting.
