Which Red Dot Sight?

Just picked up a 1980s vintage S&W 686 with a 6" barrel.... well, actually I get it in another 5 days as California holds it hostage for 10 days first. I think that I would like to mount one of those holographic red dot sights on it but have absolutely no idea what to look for other than I don't particularly want one of the ones resembling a telescopic sight. Have been looking mostly on eBay but am not impressed with what I see... I would like to stay under $100 on this but still have something that will stand up to full throttle 38 Spl. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Tasco ProPoint3

The ProPoint3 is my first choice. I have one on both a target 22 and for hunting on my 454. (The PDP3ST is a "stainless" model with rings to match your 686 finish)

Redfield used to make a REALLY nice dot, but, its no longer available. :(

Bushnell has their new line that are nice. (updated Holosight)

I don't know if you can find a Holosight on sale, but, those would be the best of the entry level.

BSA = junk
Simmons = junk
NcStar = Junk

Thanks.... while ProPoint3 does indeed look nice, I would prefer the "ghost ring" style rather than the tube version.
