I am replacing the houge rubber stock on my remington 700 .223 tactical 20 inch barrel.
Want opinions on which Bell & Carlson of the two stock to get:
1. A2 Vertical Grip Tactical Medalist (model 209x)
2. A3 Hook Tactical Medalist (model 295x)
The rifle is mainly a for 100 yard paper punching rifle - mostly bench rested.

I like the hook because my support hand will have a comfortable place but no palm swell - I think the rifle will look better.
I like the vertical grip because of the palm swell -- probably more comfortable for the shooting hand.

thanks

I had the A2 vertical grip style on my 20" 700 LTR for a while and with the wider flat forend it is more stable on the front bag than the narrow HS stock that came on the LTR.

I have the stock on a SPS Varmint now.

From the bench I use a rear bag and do not touch the rifle in any way with the non shooting hand so the hook would not be a consideration for me. I like the Medalist as pictured above.
