When the weather outside is frightful...

Do you beef up your carry equipment? I'm not talking just guns...

Example: Here in nor. cal, we've had howling wind and pouring rain the last few days. This morning, I was awoken by a family member to be informed our power was out. It was dark as hell, windy as all get-out.

I strapped on my G27 as usual, but also strapped my Strider BT on, in place of my MT UT that I usually carry to the office. I've been wearing the Strider all weekend, too. In the pouch on the sheath I have an old-style Inova X5.

I also put some firestarters, plain matches, compass, leatherman, extra flashlight, and a new box of Hydra-shoks in my bag.

Am I a bit paranoid? I just love being prepared...

Sometimes I beef up. Colder weather means bulkier, warmer clothes, which means I can conceal more & bigger stuff. I can finally carry my HK OWB with the matching double mag pouch (one holds an extra mag, the other my NAA Mini-Mag). I'll also bump up to a fixed blade knife - it also works better because sometimes my coat sleeve can catch while opening a folder. If I really feel like it, I'll strap on my 6" 686 for fun.
