When did S&W stop using "Coke Bottle" grips?

Hello, I'm saving some dough for a 6" 29-2. I haven't seen any with the diamond / Coke Bottle grips online. Were they ever on the 29-2 or just the 29? Thanks in advance.

Coke Bottle grips were made from 1956 through 1965, and the 29-2 began production in 1962, so almost certainly, some were shipped with the Cokes. The problem is that now, due to their value, nearly every moron with a gun that originally had Cokes has stripped them off. The guys that didn't strip them probably aren't going to be selling them.

Thank for the info Vanilla Gorilla. It was just the answer I was looking for. I may skip the original cokes and look for a deal on a 29-2 that has some other non-original grips on it. I could then try to get a set of grips sold on the new "Classic" 29 from S&W. I don't think they are Cokes but they look pretty nice. That diamond over the grip screw sure looks great to me. My budget just isn't there for a 29-2 with original cokes. (Unless I get real, real lucky)
