What's the deal with Kahe Elite models?

I can't find any mention of it on Kahr's website.
I found a couple of old threads here, but no real answers.
Is it just a lighter, smoother trigger or is there more to it.

Has anyone had the one of the "custom carry packages" done on their Kahr?
If so, how much difference does the trigger job make?

The Elite Kahr has a number of "premium" features like polished slide slides, better looking markings, beveled mag well, and the Elite trigger.

The Elite trigger has a slightly shorter, lighter pull.

The Kahr K9 really did need a beveled magazine well and that is nice. The DAO trigger was already good...I imagine the "improved" trigger is going to make this pistol fabulous!

For me...the best improvement the elite offers is:

"The feed ramp on the barrel is polished to a high luster to insure reliable feeding with all types of ammo."

Yup...this is going to be my next purchase...within the week, I'll be posting pics of my new acquisition.

I have also read that the "Elite" trigger is now the common one, NYPD wanted the old style heavier trigger on that model.

I just bought a new non-elite MK9. The feed ramp was polished to a mirror finish. I tried to take pictures, but I couldn't "capture" it. I don't see how it could be more polished.

Like I said, it doesn't really show in the pic, but it really is polished to a shine.

Ok, but still... 4700 for a Kahr?? Geez, that's HK money right there.
Kahrs aren't cheap pistols. They do have a budget line but their mainstream pistols are sold as premium production pistols. If you think the HK is a better value then feel free to slip that HK in your pocket when you go out or shoe horn that HK under summer attire. ;)

2cooltoolz: You are sure right about that...looks like a mirror finish to me as well.

So....what do you think of your purchase? Have you found the right carry ammo for it? Holster you have selected? Feedback please...I am in the market and I need "hands-on" info directly from the source.

BanditSRT8: Does HK even make an all-steel DAO pistol that is the same platform size of a Kahr K9? Does any other Manufacturer for that matter? I did not think so. One must compare apples to apples...eh?

Now here is a good and very, very, very expensive DA/SA HK:

I think I'll stick with the Karhr however at a $ 300-400 cost savings and I'm not sure I would ever be able to adapt to a squeeze cocker thingee.

HK makes good weapons...they just do not make anything in a platform that I want/need at the moment.

Now here is a good and very, very, very expensive DA/SA HK:

The P7M8 has only one, very light, trigger pull, making it a single action only.

Kahr and HK make firearms for different purposes and are not comparable in most ways. It would be intersting to see the companies exchange market niches . A ultra compact, Kahr sized pistol from HK would be something I'd be greatly interested in, especially in a polymer frame to cut the weight. In the same regard many people have expressed an interest in an all steel, duty sized, .45 from Kahr.

Don't mean to Hijack the thread, or bore the uninterested,so here are some of my posts about the MK9 and ammo/holster issues.

I also bought a Comp-Tac Minotaur..super comfortable at 4:30 but a little bulky, with two huge clips. I'm going to keep it though and find a way to hide the clips.

I have High Noon holsters for my GP100 and my Taurus Millennium Pro PT145.

The Alter Ego looks like a very nice holster...looks like no cant either, thus, you should be able to use it on the opposite/cross-draw side when driving...eh?

Do you think the "clip" type hoslter would hold the heavier, all-steel K9? I ask cuz there have been some comments that the K9 might just be a bit too heavy for a clip and that the grip might not be drawn tight enough to the body.

I'm from the state of Washington, where jackets/vests are worn 3/4 of the year...I can use OWB or IWB and never have to worry about tucking in the shirt.
