Momentum is certainly increasing, as we have proposed a boycott on using UPS for ANY shipping needs. The responses coming from around the nation are at a level we never dreamed possible. This has now taken a dramatic turn from being a 2nd amendment issue, to a grave "security" issue regarding ANY kind of package being shipped at all.
EVEN IF YOUR FRIENDS AND BUSINESSES DO NOT SHIP FIREARMS, ENCOURAGE ALL TO BE A PART OF THIS BOYCOTT!! SINCE THEFT OF HANDGUNS IS A PROBLEM WITH UPS EMPLOYEES, THEN ANTYTHING SHIPPED BY UPS IS NOT SECURE!!!
We are receiving reports that virtually ALL e-mail responses from Customer service have been generic, and the same wording. Therefore, to maximize our impact on the UPS management, we need to shift gears and express our outrage to others within the UPS corporate structure to be sure our views are being heard. So far, not a single response from UPS has addressed our concerns.
We have provided a whole new list of people to contact, and given an example below of what you can e-mail. Feel free to use "as is", or a modified version you may come up with:

Open letter to UPS executive management

It has become clear that UPS is using it's business and economic advantages to construct and advance a UPS political agenda. What is unclear at this moment is if this agenda resides with the executive management of UPS, or with its Board of Directors. Quite frankly, it really doesn't matter.
UPS claims to have a firearms theft problem internal to its organization. Most companies would be embarrassed by this self acknowledgment, and immediately attempted to assure its customers by aggressively working toward problem resolution. It is absolutely incredible that UPS can proclaim substandard service, then penalize the same customers who are victimized by your company's ineffective management. If you have a company management problem, you should have provided free air service for handgun shipments until UPS fixed it's own problems.
But few people believe UPS has a gun theft problem that is any greater than it's other high value freight theft problems. It is a rapidly growing belief that this "problem" is merely an attempt to slow the purchase of firearms, by drastically increasing the cost of such goods.
I will suspend use of UPS for any and all shipments, and will notify all vendors that shipments made through UPS will no longer be accepted. In addition, I have several other associates and businesses who have agreed to the same protocol. None of these companies or people are involved in the firearms industry, they are just appalled by UPS's willingness to attempt to force its political will on its customers, and to profit from this misconduct.
I would rather pay another service twice as much, just to deny UPS a profit from such contemptible behavior. RPS, FedEx & Airborne Express are your company's replacement. I will of course continue to repeat this message to others and will heavily promote the use of alternative services.
