The ejector housing screw on SA Rugers is known to come loose and the housing leave the revolver when fired. It's one screw that should have thread lock applied if it has been removed.

Yep. I make it a point to check this screw every time I clean my Vaquero.

I don't know if any of the Vaqueros ever had aluminum ejector housings, but if you come across one...

Be very careful during disassembly and reassembly. They are easily damaged (and were often messed up at the factory :(), and may not mate correctly with the frame and/or barrel.

I removed that screw on my New Vaquero once . . . it gave birth to a LCR and a SP101! :D:eek:

Always glad to hear another has a New Vaquero - mine is in 357 . . . I love it. It's a great shooter!

Never be afraid to ask a question . . that's what forums are for . . . there's always lots of help on here!

Enjoy that Vaquero! :)
