So i am trying to find the best load for my gun. So I got some IMR 4350 and started at the lowest load and worked up to max load in .5 grain incraments. My bullet is a speer 145 boat tail soft point bullets. My first (fouling) shots were 60 grains of powder then I started shooting from 56 to 60. All of the shots were within a 3 inch radius. The first cold shots were the best group(1/2" group). And 58 grains was the worst (2" group). The remaining groups were all about the same 1" - 1.75" groups. So to better perfect my load what should I do? Start at 59.5 grains to 60.5 grains in 1/10 grain increments? (thats the smallest my scale measures). Shoot same ladder at 200 yards or 300 yards? Were do I go from here? I am hoping to get a sub 5" group at 500 yards. Is this unreasonable? I am shooting a Remington 700 ADL in 7 mm Rem Mag. Have a Simmons 44 Mag 6.5 - 22 power scope. Any recomendations are appreciated.

I shoot a Remington 700 BDL 7mm Rem Mag but I use 139gr BTSP.

What's your OAL, and ogive measurements? How far are you off the lands?

I use the same powder, but a lighter bullet with a CCI LRPM. Use 57 grains even and get .550-.600" groups. I have though about playing with my distance from the lands but I'll take .550" groups for a hunting round. I'm .025 off of the lands.
