I just acquired a Winchester Model 100 and wanted to know from those that have one if they like it and what can you tell me about this rifle.

+1 on the recall. You absolutly must find out if the recall action was performed on that rifle. Don't shoot it until you are sure. The original firing pin was too brittle and when it broke the rifle would go full auto.

You have the Rifle or Carbine?

Handy firearm, is the SN just numbers of has a "alpha" charater in front?
The "alpha"means a post 64 firearm
Get two new magazines for it.

I have two and have bedded the gas-block and then the backside of the stock ferrule where the barrel tendon is, this allow my rifles to group rounds inside the "X-ring" of standard 200 yd center.

Brownells has replacement gas pistons for them.

Enjoy it!

Shot my first whitetail back in 1964 with one. Mine (a .308) was :)() very reliable and accurate. The trigger left something to be desired. Imo, the best looking semi-auto hunting rifle ever made-by far.
