what Beretta model is this?

I've never owned a Beretta, but have recently obtained a Beretta 96. I know they come in different models, which model is mine? What sets it apart from the other models?

Ive got very limited knowledge, but it looks like a F, and possibly an elite, unless someone added the skeletonized hammer.

It would appear to be a model 96 INOX or Elite. It's virtually the same as every other 40S&W Beretta except for the finish, Hogue grips and hammer.

They're fine guns and you have a fine sample.

It appears to be a early 96FS Inox (straight dust cover). Someone installed an Elite hammer. You can use the link below to run the serial number and see how it originally left the factory.

Kurt, I tried the serial number search, but didn't come up w/ any results.

make sure all letters are in all caps and run through all the date ranges untill you find it.
