I have had the polymer bug for a while. I have decided to move away from that and back to steel firearms. I prefer stainless if available in a given model. Nothing against aluminum frames (I have owned a few) but they wear quickly.
1911 (I have a Colt Combat Commander in stainless). Also, SIG P232 - I know it's only a wee .380acp, but the all stainless version is a little tank which makes it a great gun to shoot, a lot.
Put me down for the SW 3rd generations also, specifically the 4516 and 5906. Both are reliable and accurate and if you run out of ammo you can smack something with it.
