Western Field 771a Rifle in 270win

I found a wards western field model 771a in a LGS 270win caliber, it is in good condition nice wood $ 475.00 I just don't know much about them, never had one has any one here owned one and how did you like it ??

That's a really good rifle. Owned one years ago in .30-06 caliber.

The rifle was made by Heckler and Koch for Heym of Germany. It was sold in the 1970s-1980s. Methinks it's same as the Heym SR10 or the Mauser M-3000.

If the rifle has the Heym name on it anywhere it's worth more bucks.

Well I did not walk away, he came down on price a little more and I brought it home, it does have the Heym name on it the Mauser markings so I will let you know if it shoots !!

You have a very nice rifle there at a great price. Let me know how the rifle shoots.

I forget the model number but I have had Sears BAs in 3006 and 270 that were
FN 98 Mausers. I think from 50s, very nice rifles and can be had at reasonable
price.
