Weaver T24 problem

The problem is with me, not the scope.
New T24 on my Kimber 82g rifle used in NRA smallbore competition.
My problem is that the reticle / 1/8" dot gets lost on the black bull.
Sometimes I can see it sometimes I cannot. At best it is barely visible to my 67 YO eyes.
Any suggestions? yellow glasses? yellow photographic filter on scope? Lose 25 years of "experience"?
Change the reticle?

You need to adjust the focus on the rear of the scope, not the front.

I had the same problem with both my Weaver T-10 and a Remington 24X scope.

Forget about whats on the other side of the scope, better yet, look at a plain white target. The adjust the focus until the crosshairs/Dot are cristol clear and sharp, then set the lock right.

Then all you have do it work the focus on the front for what ever range you are shooting. I've found the clearness of the crosshairs don't change.
